Hello! My name is Olivia Wood-Adler. I’m 27 years old and a single, working mother raising my amazing son, Zephyr, who is 8 months old. He’s the absolute light of my life and the most loving, giggly little guy you’ll ever meet. His smile warms the heart of everyone he meets, and I couldn’t feel luckier to be his Mom.

I originally grew up in Burbank, California, but moved to this neighborhood when I was 9. My Mom remarried my incredible stepfather, and we came here to live with him. I spent my teenage years here in the Hill Section neighborhood and never left. Now, I’m raising Zephyr in the same community, and I’m so happy he’ll grow up in such a beautiful place.

I used to work in animal care at an animal hospital in Palos Verdes. I’m a huge animal lover, so it was a great experience, but I found a job I love even more at Milk Tooth in Hermosa Beach. Milk Tooth is a pediatric dentist and wellness shop, and I absolutely adore working there. The doctor is so passionate about his work, and I’m lucky to have amazing coworkers. Plus, it’s great because I get to meet wonderful families from all over the South Bay, and I’m able to spend every lunch and weekend with Zephyr. The balance between my work and time with my son is just perfect.

In addition to helping others at Milk Tooth, I also support Autism Speaks. With a close family member on the spectrum, it’s important to give back to others.

When I’m not at work, I savor time with my son. Although Zephyr is too small for activities, he does like to be outside or in the water. He also loves to go to the parks, especially Larson Parkette. It’s just a short walk from our house and we like to play under the trees.

We also like to go to Proudly Serving for the best burgers I’ve ever had. I can’t wait for my son to have his first burger there someday soon! My son is a foodie (just like his Mom), so we love eating at all the great places around here.

Shopping is another thing we love to do together. Expect to find us at Trader Joe’s and Target. I love shopping and cooking, so we tend to go to a lot of different places!

Outside the two of us, we have a very big family. We love spending holidays all together around the table, eating good food, telling great jokes and stories, and playing fun games. When we’re not here, we go to Utah to our other house and visit family out there and enjoy the seasons!

Our house wouldn’t be complete without our three pets. Logan is our vocal tuxedo cat, always letting us know what’s on his mind. Nina is our sweet, shy tabby who’s incredibly loving once she warms up. Then there’s Zeppelin, our red-eared slider turtle, who loves sunbathing on our balcony. Our little animal family brings so much joy to our home.

One of my favorite memories so far is moving into our current home. It’s the perfect place for me, Zephyr, my parents, and my siblings. We all have our own space to express ourselves, but there’s also a wonderful closeness that brings us together. I love the feeling of being surrounded by family.

But honestly, what makes this neighborhood truly special isn’t just the beautiful houses or the scenery—it’s the people. Our neighbors are kind, welcoming, and irreplaceable. I’m so grateful to be raising my son in a place like this.
