Caley Versfelt

Caley's enthusiasm continued during the after party

Hill Section resident and model Caley Versfelt walked the Lumiere Runway in LA Fashion Week for Kyle Denman. His collection, If I Had a Flower, “ is inspired by a flower surviving in a world that is not designed for it.” He said, “Caley has Down syndrome and is the personification of this flower surviving the hard part. I truly believe that there is nothing stronger than a person remaining soft in a world that’s not been kind to them.” Versfelt enjoyed the kindness and professionalism of everyone involved in the Lumiere Fashion Show.

Versfelt continues to live by her motto, “Dream big, and never give up.”  Always saying “yes” to further her career, Versfelt branched out from acting and public speaking to enter the world of fashion. Denman first saw Versfelt walk at her audition for the I Am Runway Fashion Show, where models with special needs were included. During the first fitting, there was an instant connection, and their friendship continues to grow. In April, she is looking forward to modeling for Denman at Goodwill's EcoCouture Fashion Show Gala.

Denman has received many prestigious awards including Forbes 2023 inaugural 30 Under 30 Local Los Angeles list, the International Design Award 2021 Fashion Designer of the Year, the Fashion Designers and Craft Makers Network 2018 Young Fashion Designer of the Year, and the Grand Prize winner of the 2016 Project Runway.  Denman includes people with disabilities in his runway to show all people are beautiful and have value. Versfelt is proud to represent Denman, a designer with amazing creativity and a big heart.
