Meet Zane, Macie and Snickers
Zane
How long has your family lived in the Hill Section neighborhood? What do you like most about living here?
We have lived in the Hill section for 12 years. We love the friendliness of neighbors; seeing people you know and waving. The local stores and restaurants are great! It's nice to walk down to the beach for pleasure and exercise.
Please tell us about your beloved dogs.
Zane (our beloved and loyal pitador) is 9 years old, and we rescued him when he was 1. He is the friendliest, kindess, calmest dog ever and is great with kids and everyone! Macie (“lovely M”) is our two-year-old husky mix with beautiful blue eyes. She was also rescued when she was 1. Macie loves to talk and run in FAST circles. Finally, Snickers (our feisty, fun and spastic/obsessive 3-year-old pup) was rescued when he was 2 and he has come a LONG way! We love his fun runs around the yard with Macie.
How did your pets come to join your family?
We lost a couple of dogs in past several years and we rescued each one of our dogs shortly after the other pets had gone "to the rainbow bridge." They are like old best friends. We love taking them for walks and taking them to a big area where they can run free!
Is there a story behind your pets’ names? How did you and your family come up with them?
My daughter Maddie (11- Robinson) named Zane after the Ningago character that she was into 8 years ago. Macie was the name the foster family used and we stayed with it because she looks like a Macie; all calm, gentle, beautiful inside and out. Snickers was named by Maddie after our dog, Skittles, had passed; so she stuck with yummy candy theme.
What makes your pets stand out from the rest?
All of their differences...looks, color, size, personalities, hair type, everything … and YET they are best friends for life! They love each other and that's so cool!
Do your pets have any unique talents or tricks?
Macie can howl and it sounds like she is talking to you. You ask her "what are you trying to say, Macie?" and she responds. Snickers can catch tennis balls up to 3 feet (or more) the air. Zane just strolls around and occasionally gets a burst of energy! LOL.
Any particular favorite toys or treats?
They love balls of any kind...even soccer balls..haha! Stuffed animals, rope toys...balls, balls, balls...
Tell us about your favorite memory with your pets.
Watching them each figure out and know the others’ boundaries. The little one, Snickers,"seems" to try and set the rules....HIS!
