Meet Maggie

For the Siebert family, life in the neighborhood has been nothing short of magical, especially with their beloved Golden Retriever, Maggie, by their side. Having moved here almost 11 years ago, the family has embraced everything this community has to offer—especially the scenic hills and the peaceful serenity they find during their daily walks. As they reflect on their time here, one thing is clear: Maggie has brought an extra layer of joy and charm to their lives.

How long has your family lived in the neighborhood and what do you like most about living here?
We’ve lived here since the fall of 2014. One of our favorite things about the neighborhood is the views from the hills. They are absolutely stunning, and the experience of walking through the neighborhood is so magical, especially with how different it feels during the day and night. There’s always something new to discover here.

Tell us about your pet
Our pet is Maggie, a Golden Retriever. She was born on December 10, 2024. As a Golden Retriever, Maggie is incredibly social and friendly, known for their loving nature and loyalty. Goldens are often described as “people-oriented” dogs, which perfectly matches Maggie’s personality!

When and how did your pet come to join your family?
Maggie came to us through a breeder waitlist. We worked with Californiagoldenretrievers.com, and after some time, we were lucky enough to bring her home. She was part of the Christmas litter and her birth name was “Tinsel.” It’s been such a joy having her in our family.

Is there a story behind your pet’s name?
Yes, there’s a little music inspiration behind her name. A friend suggested we listen to “Maggie’s Song” by Chris Stapleton, and it felt like the perfect fit. We loved the name, and it just stuck!

What’s the one trait or behavior that makes your pet stand out from the rest?
Maggie is incredibly social—she loves meeting new people and always wants to be the center of attention. She’s the type of dog who will go up to anyone and try to make a friend, whether they’re ready or not! Her outgoing nature is one of the things that makes her so special.

Does your pet have any unique talents or tricks?
Maggie is especially fond of her No Hide chew sticks and rolls. She’ll happily entertain herself for hours with them. There’s something about the combination of chewy and satisfying that really brings her joy!

Tell us about your favorite memory with your pet.
One of our favorite memories with Maggie is from the day we first brought her home. Kara (mom) would hold her and fall asleep on the couch, cradling her gently in her arms. It was such a peaceful, tender moment as we all began to settle into our new life with Maggie. Rick’s favorite memory is sitting on the front porch at night, enjoying the quiet company of Maggie. Claire’s favorite memory is the day we went to the breeder and picked Maggie out — she was the one who convinced all of us to choose Maggie over the other pups in the litter. Landon loves getting Maggie to chase him, and he especially enjoyed carrying her outside when we first brought her home, as she was so scared. Katherine’s favorite thing to do with Maggie is play "tag," and they have so much fun together.

Where does your pet love to hang out in the neighborhood
Maggie loves walking around the neighborhood, exploring every corner and taking in all the new sights and smells. At the moment, she’s a bit wary of other dogs, so she tends to stick to her humans during walks, but we’re hopeful that she’ll warm up to making new friends soon!

If your pet could choose any adventure to go on, what would it be?
If Maggie had her way, she’d go on a walk with unlimited sniffing privileges. She’s always so curious about everything around her, and there’s nothing she loves more than exploring the world one sniff at a time.

Closing Thoughts
Maggie, the Golden Retriever, has truly become an integral part of the Seibert family. Her friendly, social nature, love for walks, and endearing quirks make her the perfect companion for her family. Whether it's exploring the neighborhood or simply snuggling up on the couch, Maggie fills their home with warmth and joy. We’re lucky to have her as part of our community!
