Donut and Bunny

"Hippity Hoppity Easter's On Its Way"

Family Member’s Names: Steve (Dad), Christine (Mom), Allison (14), Kai (11), Lina (Grandma)

How long have you lived in the Hill Section? 7 years

Pet’s Names:  Donut (female, Dog), Bunny (male, Rabbit)

How old are they? Donut is about 4 and Bunny is about 6.

Where did you get your pets? We adopted Donut from the Love Joy Shelter in  2020. Bunny walked in to our garage one day in 2018 but we don’t know from where she came from. Yet, he’s lived with us ever since and we are very happy he chose us.

How did you come up with their names?  After we adopted Donut from the shelter we had to buy all the supplies from Pet Smart. We then picked up donuts on the way home; hence, her name. We called the rabbit Bunny for the first weeks while we tried to find out where he was from. The name stuck since then.

Anything special about them? Donut and Bunny are very good siblings to each other. They enjoy each others company and will find each other when they get bored.

What do you like most about your pets? Donut is very active and enjoys walks as well as the Live Oak Dog Park. Bunny will demand pets and nibble at your feet until he is picked up and held.

Any funny stories about them? Donut is well known around the neighborhood as she takes walks almost daily around the hill section. Please stop us and say hello. She is also known to hang out the car window. Bunny is often seen at Larsson Street Parkette. He wanders there by himself, but don’t worry, when he gets his fill of grass and sun he will hop his way back home. He is very friendly and very much enjoys pets from the many kids that know him there.

How precious are your pets? Donut and Bunny can go about the house as they please. Either can be seen sunning themselves out on the driveway.

How have they enriched your home and family? Both Donut and Bunny are very loved and complete our family. We are very lucky to have found them.

Any interesting final thoughts? Bunny taught himself to use a litter box. We actually don’t know how.
