How long have you lived in this house?:

The house has been in our family since 1993.

 

Square footage and number of rooms:

4200 SF, 5 Bedrooms, 3.5 Bathrooms, formal living room, laundry room and a bonus room.

 

Why did you choose to live in the Hill Section?

We really enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the ocean and the cityscape. We also appreciate the sense of exclusivity and privacy, while still being close to the beach and vibrant downtown.

 

What is the history behind your house?  

It was our parents’ home.   After they passed, so many people loved it and we had always had an affinity for it, because there were so many great memories there.  It’s been a legacy home.

 

What style is the interior of your home?

Spanish inspired.

 

Which room is your favorite and why?

The primary bedroom is our favorite, as it boasts its own balcony with ocean views, a fireplace, walk-in closet and a remodeled ensuite bath.

 

Where do you and your family spend the most time in your home?

In the living room close to the kitchen and the wet bar where we can look out to the garden and view the lush bougainvillea trees.

 

What changes, if any, have you made to the home since you bought it?

We expanded it and kept the original primary suite, so there are 2 primary suites.  And, it has worked out well, because it’s truly a magnificent multi-generational home.

 

Did you design or decorate it yourself? If not, whom did you use to do this?

My mom had a designer originally do it with large picture windows featuring an abundance of greenery.

 

What inspired the architecture/décor of your home?

My mom had taken a trip to Florence and was inspired by the Florence countryside.

 

What are the most outstanding features of your home and/or property?

We have 75 feet of frontage and ocean views, which is spectacular. 

 

Anything else you’d like to share about your home?  

Our home is perfectly located just a short stroll from downtown, the beach, and all that Manhattan Beach has to offer.
