My dogs, Maycee and Kelsee, recently celebrated their birthdays and would love for you to get to know them!

Maycee enjoyed her 16th birthday, and Kelsee, on the other hand, celebrated her 12th! I’ve had so many fun moments with these two pups. Every day is always an exciting adventure when they’re around. 

Both Kelsee and Maycee came into our family when they were small Labrador Retriever puppies! Labradors are a breed known for their friendly, outgoing, and intelligent nature, making them amazing companions! Within the first years of having Maycee and Kelsee, we had already experienced so many amazing moments together. Then, they found their special talent! 

After working really hard and training all kinds of different skills, they became certified pet therapy dogs! During pet therapy, Maycee and Kelsee visited tons of hospitals, assisted living facilities, and private homes, putting smiles on people’s faces every time. They love visiting both kids, adults and everyone in between! Maycee is now retired from her years of service, but still loves meeting new people and friends. Kelsee still visits all kinds of people and places often, bringing joy in the most needed of times. 

Both of these girls have also had a lifetime full of running, walking, and playing. They are great exercise partners and love to be active. Most mornings, you can find them out and about on the paths, trotting along in the sun with a smile on their faces. They enjoy each moment they spend outdoors, even in the rainy and cold weather. When summer comes, they like to jump in the cool water and swim! The lake is one of their favorite places to explore and play in! Afterwards, they chase their toys for as long as they can, and then come back wanting more time to play! 

Both Maycee and Kelsee’s favorite toys are tennis balls. They will always light up whenever one is in sight. As for their favorite food… they will pretty much choose anything! They get very happy whenever dinner time comes around, and they’ve even learned the sound of the treat container opening! They love it when they occasionally get to have a peanut butter treat, or a banana piece, but other than that they will enjoy whatever is offered to them! 

Even though I’ve made countless memories with both of these puppies, there are a couple of times that really stuck out to me! On the holidays, we sometimes dress up Maycee and Kelsee! Whether it’s putting on special costumes for Halloween, or decorating them in cute bandanas for winter, it’s always a fun time giving them a special doo. Another memorable time I have with these puppies is whenever we have sleepovers together. I put their dog pillows in my room, settle them in, and the next thing you know, we are all asleep on the floor! Having sleepovers with them is definitely one of the best things we do together. 

These girls are also both amazing cuddlers! They love to snuggle up and lay down next to us when we sit down or watch a movie. They are like real, life-sized stuffed animals!

For their birthdays, we usually bring them to the lake, or take them for a walk. One year, we gave them a chance to see the park and explore the playground, which they found very entertaining! Afterwards, we spend time with them and give them lots of pampering. We end the day with their birthday treats. Sometimes we give them a whipped cream treat, or even a dog cookie from the pet store! This is probably their favorite part of the day, and they get extremely excited whenever they experience this. Next, we give them a present, which often means another tennis ball or tug of war toy! They have loads of fun during their special day and are always super happy to be spoiled with love! 

I am so thankful to have gotten to spend all of these years with them, and I’ll cherish every single memory we’ve created together! Happy birthday once again to Maycee and Kelsee!
