SEPTEMBER - Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

My son Kaden and l serving at Lighthouse this summer

HELLO EVERYONE and l hope all of your wonderful children have gotten off to a great school year. Whether you are letting go of those sweet little hands on their first day of Kindergarten or sending your young adults off to college, it is an exciting and often bitter-sweet time. My son just started his Senior year in high school and my daughter just
left for her Senior year in college. Time flies by!
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Serving with Lighthouse Family retreat has been my family's philanthropy of choice. One of my close friend's children went to heaven at age 7 and it is how we honor sweet Creed's memory. Lighthouse Family Retreat serves families living through childhood cancer. We raise money to treat these deserving families to a week of rest and restoration away from the atrocities that this diagnosis brings. If you are looking for a good way to give back that is not too far from home, Lighthouse is an amazing ministry and in the world we live in, teaching our kiddo to have a servant spirit is rare in opportunity.
This summer was our 15th year! Visit www.lighthousefamilyretreat.org for more info!
You receive Stroll every month, thanks to the community support provided by our preferred business partners. I've met with each one of them, and they are excited to meet you and
earn your trust when the need to serve arises. This month we welcome NEW Preferred Partner Cutting Edge Firewood. Hit them up for all your fireplace/firepit needs this Fall and Winter!
I'd also like to thank the residents who contributed to the September issue, including
The Kossoff, Amick, Djaba and Harmon families! Thank you for welcoming us into your homes and lives to celebrate you! Stroll The Manor would not exist without you! Congrats to Stacey Harmon on the completion of her 2nd book, launching right before the holidays and can be found on Amazon!
Last month, a wonderful group of residents and business partners gathered at the newly opened Vice Steak Bar in The Crabapple District. We tasted wonderful wines while enjoying time with friends old and new while dining on the delicious delicacies provided by Chef Nick Leahy-Executive and Managing Partner. A special thank you to Owner Daniel Barbalho and Marketing Director Richard Tomas for the wonderful hospitality that evening. If you're looking for a wonderful date night, a fam dinner night out or possibly a late night nightcap and get your groove on kinda vibe, go visit Vice Steak Bar and/or their late night concept The Secret Garden! The Garden is open every Saturday at 10pm with music and cocktails flowing!
