On March 4, 2026, the Elgin Area Chamber hosted its annual awards celebration at the beautiful Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, recognizing businesses that exemplify leadership, innovation, and service to the community. Among the evening’s honorees were two businesses that many of our Stroll readers know well—CrossKicks Fitness of South Elgin and The Karas Restaurant Group—both long-time and faithful Stroll partners.

CrossKicks Fitness of South Elgin was honored with the 2025 Small Business Award, recognizing its entrepreneurial excellence, strong community engagement, and dedication to helping individuals build strength and confidence. The CrossKicks team has created more than a fitness studio—they have built a supportive community where members are encouraged to challenge themselves and celebrate progress together.

Also recognized was Thornwood Resident Bob Karas, representing The Karas Restaurant Group, who received the 2025 Large Business Award for distinguished business achievement, community leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The Karas family has long been known across the Fox Valley for their hospitality, leadership, and investment in the community they serve.
