The couple, married for 52 years, has a long history with the community. They first built a home in Tiburon in 1996, becoming one of the neighborhood's earliest residents.

"There were gravel roads out here back then," Patti recalls with a laugh. "It's amazing to see how much the area has grown and everything that's available now."

After moving away to Millard West for a time, the couple found themselves missing the neighborhood they loved. In 2020, they returned, purchasing a home in Tiburon South.

"We missed Tiburon so much," Patti says. "We wanted to get back to the golf course and the community."

That sense of community is one of the things they treasure most. Beyond the beautiful golf course, Tiburon offers countless opportunities to connect with neighbors through book clubs, Bunco, Mahjong, knitting groups, Pitch and Bridge clubs, and golf leagues for players of every skill level. Whether you're looking to make new friends, pick up a new hobby, or simply enjoy time together, there's always something happening. As Frank and Patti will tell you, there's never a dull moment in Tiburon.

Originally from Omaha, both Frank and Patti dedicated their careers to serving others. Patti attended Creighton University and began her career as a third-grade teacher with Omaha Public Schools. After earning her master's degree, she chose to become a full-time mom. Frank attended the University of Nebraska Omaha and spent his career with the Omaha Fire Department, eventually serving as a captain.

Their story began long before Tiburon, however. The two met while living in the Kingsbrook Apartments near 72nd and Center Streets.

"We lived two doors apart," Patti says. "The rest is history."

Today, their family includes a son and daughter, along with four grandchildren—all living in Omaha. Like many grandparents in the neighborhood, weekends are often spent cheering from the sidelines.

"Every Saturday and Sunday, all of my friends and neighbors are running to grandkids' activities," Patti says. "We love it. It's so much fun."

While they don't currently have pets of their own, they happily help care for their granddogs and enjoy seeing neighbors out walking their furry family members throughout the community.

The Fourth of July is a favorite family tradition. Frank and Patti gather with neighbors, children, and grandchildren to celebrate together before enjoying the annual Tiburon fireworks show.

When they're not attending activities, you'll often find Patti and her grandkids exploring some of their favorite local destinations, like the Henry Doorly Zoo, Durham Museum, the Gretna Family YMCA, Tiburon Pool, and neighborhood parks. One favorite outing involves loading up the grandchildren on the golf cart for a special treat.

"I love taking the kids to get a drink from Fiiz or an ice cream from Baskin-Robbins," Patti says.

When asked about their favorite memory in Tiburon, the answer comes easily.

"Our neighbors," Patti says. "We are truly blessed."

After nearly three decades connected to Tiburon, it's clear that the friendships, family connections, and sense of community are what make this neighborhood feel like home.
