Ali and Gabe Vazquez of Tierra Verde didn’t just bring home a dog, they welcomed a fluffy genius into their lives. Zoe, their 16-month-old Standard Poodle, has become more than just a pet. She’s family, an adventure buddy, and sometimes even a lifesaver.

Zoe joined the Vazquez family as a puppy, and right away, it was clear she was something special. Like many poodles, she’s smart, but Zoe seems to have a sixth sense when it comes to helping her humans. One unforgettable example happened during a boating trip off the Intracoastal in West Palm Beach when Zoe was just 10 months old.

Ali had stashed her beach bag under a tree before setting off for a long walk around Peanut Island. As the family wandered the shoreline, Zoe kept tugging back on her leash, insistent on returning to that one tree. At first, no one understood her determination until Ali gave in and followed her. There in the sand, near the tree, lay the missing keys that had unknowingly slipped out of her bag. Thanks to Zoe’s persistence and keen awareness, what could have been a stressful situation turned into a story the family will never forget.

It’s no surprise that Zoe is so clever, as poodles are known for their intelligence, but she also has a gentle, spoiled side that the Vazquez family absolutely adores. She dines on home-cooked meals (yes, Ali cooks for her!), and she receives endless affection in return for her loyalty and love.
