It only takes one person to make a difference. One person can have an impact on others through their kindness, their words, or their actions. Meet Tierra Verde resident Dr. Harold Shinitzsky, Psy.D., who has helped countless individuals in his career as a licensed psychologist.
Helping Athletes Thrive
One of the best ways to make a difference is the power of the pen. Author of A Champion’s Mindset: 15 Mental Conditioning Steps to Becoming a Champion Athlete, Harold’s third book helps developing athletes thrive. As he says, “There are no guarantees in life. It’s about what you can do to increase the probability of success.” Although you can’t control the outcome, you can control the process. By perfecting the process, you can increase the probability of success. For instance, if you want to get better grades, study harder, go to class, and get a study buddy.
Known nationally for his expertise in sports psychology, Harold works with Olympians, professional athletes (PGA, NFL, MLB, ATP, WTA, NBA, and NHL), and nationally ranked juniors. He’s also the co-creator of A Champion’s Mindset™ and The Winning Zone©, programs designed to unlock peak performance both on and off the field.
Harold is highly sought after to help athletes perform their very best under pressure. It’s hard enough to be a professional athlete. Why not get an advantage with a seasoned, experienced psychologist?
In 2024 alone, Harold coached athletes who competed in the Australian Open, the Super Bowl, the Paris Olympics, and even on championship teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Celtics, and Florida Panthers. But despite his impressive résumé, Harold remains humble and deeply connected to his community. He conducts a Beginners Tennis Clinic, frequently presents to local organizations such as the St. Petersburg Women’s Chamber of Commerce, and continues to teach mental conditioning to athletes and coaches at the prestigious Mouratoglou Tennis Academy.
Harold conducts numerous corporate training experiences but integrates a fun, engaging, sports-focused approach to communicate key points to business leaders.
A Sought-After Speaker
He’s also a sought-after speaker, recently delivering a keynote to the University of Florida College of Dentistry on “Managing Stress & Anxiety in the 21st Century” and presenting to the Florida Psychological Association on “Addressing the Needs of Individuals Recovering from a Narcissistic Relationship.” His newest book, Me, Myself, and I: A Narcissist’s Mindset—A Self-Help Handbook for Victims-Survivors of a Narcissist, continues his mission to empower and educate.
Harold has spent his career focusing on prevention. He has been the mental health correspondent for numerous media outlets through television, radio, and podcasts. Sharing evidence-based research information with the general public is near and dear to Harold’s professional heart. Harold co-authored Your Mind: An Owner’s Manual for a Better Life as well as Take Control of Your Anxiety: A Drug-Free Approach to Living a Happy, Healthy Life. Why not learn how to embrace a victorious mindset to translate into a happier life, fewer stressful moments, and less anxiety?
Life is too short not to impact others. Harold uses his knowledge, experience, and expertise to help others reduce their stress and anxiety, perform better as professional athletes, and recover from challenging relationships.
Thank you, Harold, for making the world a happier and healthier place through your efforts.
