Making a Difference, One Bag at a Time
In a community known for showing up when it matters, Topsfield resident Angelina Weyler is part of an effort that quietly—but powerfully—changes lives. Through her involvement with Bags of Hope and Beauty from Ashes Ministry, she helps connect local generosity with women who need it most.
Many of the women served through Bags of Hope are navigating difficult transitions—moving from jail into halfway houses, entering recovery programs, or starting over after periods of homelessness or exploitation. In those moments, even small gestures can carry significant meaning.
After sending a care package to one woman, Angelina Weyler saw just how much that support mattered.
“Because of people’s generosity, we were able to send her an encouraging care package,” she said. “She told us, ‘I have never felt so much love before… You made a difference in my life.’”
That kind of impact is exactly what Bags of Hope was created to do. Founded through Jasmine Grace Outreach, each bag—packed by volunteers and filled with everyday essentials—serves as a tangible reminder that someone cares.
“These are items many of us take for granted,” Angelina says. “But for women living on the streets or in recovery programs, they mean comfort, dignity, and a sense of being seen.”
Here in Topsfield, that mission has taken on a local heartbeat. At a recent community event, neighbors came together to donate, assemble, and distribute 180 Bags of Hope—each one heading directly to women’s treatment centers across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The same effort raised $4,000 to support continued outreach.
“This is how we give about 2,000 Bags of Hope out each year—through community support,” Angelina says.
Through Beauty from Ashes Ministry, women are also offered long-term support, including mentoring, recovery programs, and safe housing. Their work focuses on helping women rebuild their lives with stability, purpose, and community.
Angelina has seen firsthand how even small acts of generosity can ripple outward. Whether it’s sending gift cards to a mother in crisis or collecting diapers for a baby in a safe home, each effort adds up.
One message she received captured it simply: “I can breathe this month.”
As May focuses on motherhood, these stories are reminders that behind every need is a woman, a mother, or a family working toward stability—and that a supportive community can make that path a little easier.
For those looking to get involved, the opportunity is always open. There may not be a specific event on the calendar, but the need—and the impact—remains constant.
“Even small acts of kindness can make a real difference,” Angelina says. “Because she is worth it.”
