A Healthy Glow, Built from the Ground Up

Jenny Gaynor’s journey shaped Healthy Glow Beauty & Med Spa, where personalized care, trusted relationships and self-care come first.

Jenny Gaynor has never taken a particularly predictable route to becoming a business owner. At 18, she moved to Los Angeles and immersed herself in the beauty industry, even making an appearance on an MTV dating show along the way.
“I’ve always had an adventurous side, and I think that willingness to try things has carried through every stage of my life,” she says. “I’ve learned that sometimes you have to take the leap before you feel completely ready.”
After returning to Massachusetts, Jenny became a flight attendant, traveling the country before eventually finding her way back to the aesthetics industry. Her biggest life change came with the birth of her son, Brody.
After leaving a difficult relationship, Jenny found herself raising him on her own and working three jobs to support them. One of those jobs was a mobile spray tanning business, which she built while Brody was still an infant.
“There were plenty of times I had my baby with me while I was trying to build the business and make everything work,” Jenny says. “It wasn’t glamorous, but I was determined. I knew I wanted to create a better life for us, and I was willing to work for it.”
Building Healthy Glow
That persistence eventually led Jenny, now a Licensed Medical Esthetician and Master Aesthetician with more than 15 years in the industry, to open the first Healthy Glow Beauty & Med Spa in Groveland.
Its success led to a second location in Rowley—inside the same space where Jenny had once worked when it was under different ownership.
For her, the full-circle moment has special meaning. Healthy Glow is the business she envisioned, but it is also a reflection of the community she wanted to create around it.
“I didn’t want to build a place where people walked in, felt pressured to buy something and walked back out,” she says. “I wanted relationships. I wanted women supporting women, and I wanted every client to feel like their treatment plan was actually designed for them.”
Today, Healthy Glow offers a broad range of day spa, medical aesthetics and wellness services. Clients can come in for customized facials and Hydrafacials, advanced treatments such as chemical peels, microneedling and laser services, or medical aesthetic options including injectables.
The spa also offers lash and brow services, spray tanning, waxing, makeup, bridal services and other beauty treatments. Membership programs provide options for clients who want to make regular treatments part of their routines.
Despite the extensive menu, Jenny’s philosophy remains individualized rather than one-size-fits-all.
“There are so many treatments and technologies available now, and that’s exciting, but more isn’t always better,” she says. “It’s about understanding the person in front of you, what they want to accomplish and creating a plan that makes sense for them.”
Jenny continues to invest in her own education as well. She is currently attending nursing school at Lawrence Memorial/Regis College, working toward becoming a registered nurse and eventually a nurse practitioner. She sees that continued education as part of staying current in an industry that changes quickly.
Getting Holiday-Ready
As fall turns toward the holidays, Healthy Glow can also become part of the season’s planning.
Appointments before parties, family gatherings and other special occasions can fill quickly, so clients who know they want a facial, spray tan, lash or brow service, or another treatment before an event may want to schedule early.
For those already thinking about holiday shopping, Healthy Glow gift cards offer another option. They can be used toward services and products, with the current exception of injectables, giving the recipient the flexibility to choose the experience that suits them.
Making Room for Yourself
For Jenny, self-care has become about more than any single appointment. Now six years sober, she talks openly about learning to slow down, spend time outdoors with Brody and appreciate ordinary moments—something she encourages her clients to do as well.
That outlook has become part of what she wants Healthy Glow to offer: not simply another item on someone’s schedule, but an opportunity to disconnect for a while and focus on themselves.
“We live in a world that moves at lightning speed, and sometimes you really do need to put your phone down and give yourself permission to stop,” Jenny says.
“Whether that means getting outside, spending time with the people you love or coming in for a facial and putting your phone on Do Not Disturb, I want people to make room for themselves. That’s what Healthy Glow has always been about for me.”
