For Jucilene de Souza, a clean home has always been about more than how a room looks. It is about giving people back some of their time—something that can feel especially valuable as the holidays approach. “When people come home, they enjoy seeing and being in a clean home,” Jucilene says. “It brings me joy to know they are happy and can enjoy other things in life apart from cleaning their home.”

Jucilene grew up in Brazil, where she worked as a teacher for children in kindergarten through fourth grade. At 28, she came to the United States looking for greater opportunities for her family. She worked in restaurants, delivered newspapers, learned English with help from family, friends and fellow business owners, and raised three children as a single mother.

Cleaning, however, was something she genuinely enjoyed. After working for other cleaning companies, Jucilene realized she wanted the freedom to provide the level of detail she believed clients deserved. She began building her own business in 2000, even tucking business cards into the newspapers she delivered to find customers.

“I always liked to clean and wanted my own business to help others,” she says. “I wanted to do more for people, not less. I knew I could make a bigger impact by training others in how to professionally clean and be the best I can be for my clients.”

More than 25 years later, JS4Clean remains family-owned, with much of its growth coming through referrals and word of mouth.

JS4Clean provides residential and commercial cleaning along with deep cleaning, move-in and move-out services, post-construction cleanup and seasonal cleaning. The team brings Jucilene’s eye for detail to each job. She jokes that when something needs attention, her eyes seem to go directly to it—whether it is a cobweb or dust collecting on a glass pendant light.

That attention can be particularly helpful heading into the holiday season. Between decorating, shopping, cooking, hosting and keeping up with everyday responsibilities, cleaning can quickly become another source of stress. JS4Clean can help homeowners prepare before guests arrive, reset the house after entertaining or simply keep regular cleaning from competing with holiday plans.

And Jucilene has a reassuring message for clients before her team arrives: Don’t clean for the cleaners.

“We are coming to help you, so picking up is all you need to do,” she says. “Do not go crazy cleaning anything!”

The team can also work with the cleaning products clients prefer. Services begin with a conversation about the space and type of cleaning needed, followed by an on-site assessment and upfront quote.

That sense of trust has helped JS4Clean form long-standing client relationships. One Topsfield client says the company has cared for their home for 20 years, praising the team for being hardworking, kind and attentive to areas the homeowner might otherwise overlook. Another client, Bobbie C., describes Jucilene and her team as thorough and proactive, noting their attention to detail and open communication.

For Jucilene, those relationships are a meaningful part of the business she has built. Away from work, she and her husband, Wellington Bento, have six children between them and seven grandchildren. The family also enjoys a local fall tradition—the Topsfield Fair.

As another busy holiday season approaches, Jucilene’s goal for JS4Clean remains straightforward: help clients enjoy their homes without spending all their free time cleaning them. Her own approach to work continues to be grounded in consistency, gratitude and appreciation for the people around her.

“I thank God every day for my team of wonderful girls and my clients,” she says. “I work very hard and I am consistent. At the beginning of each day and the end of each day, I say a prayer of thanks and gratitude for all that I have and for the people in my life.”
