Leadership, Legacy, and Life in Motion with Esteban DeLeon

The De Leon Family

When it comes to drive, discipline, and dedication, Esteban DeLeon has never been one to stay idle. Whether serving around the world or teeing off on the golf course, he approaches everything with the same steady focus that defined his 13-year Army career. Esteban, his wife Kacie, daughter Sadie, and son Ryder have called Traditions home for the past seven years. Rounding out the family are two doodles, Dilly and Hazel.

Service runs deep in the DeLeon family. Both of Esteban’s parents served in the Army, inspiring him to follow in their footsteps. He began his own journey in the National Guard before joining the ROTC program at Georgia Southern University. Upon graduation, he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and was stationed at Fort Stewart with the 3rd Infantry Division. His time there included deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, experiences that tested his leadership and resilience.

Throughout his career, Esteban’s dedication earned him multiple commendations, including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal. He also earned a Lean Six Sigma certification, reflecting his commitment to excellence in every mission. After attending Captains Career School at Fort Lee, Virginia, he was stationed in South Korea, where he activated and established a new quartermaster supply company responsible for fuel and water distribution, production, and pipeline operations across the Korean Peninsula.

Of all his postings, South Korea holds a special place in his heart. Immersing himself in a new culture alongside his family created unforgettable memories, and it is where Ryder was born, making the experience even more meaningful. Esteban describes the time there as one of growth, adventure, and connection, both personally and professionally.

Now retired from active service, Esteban continues to support fellow veterans through the Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoys spending his free time restoring classic cars and playing golf. When asked what advice he would give to young people considering enlistment, his answer is simple: “It’s a great opportunity to see the world, experience other cultures, and learn new skill sets.”

From leading soldiers across continents to building a life rooted in family, Esteban DeLeon’s story reflects a legacy of strength, curiosity, and commitment, a life in motion driven by purpose both in and out of uniform.
