Meet the Stretch Zone Owner: Law Wycoff

A personal journey from unexpected injury to helping others move better

The Stretch Zone team

For Law Wycoff, owning Stretch Zone Braselton is the culmination of a journey he never expected to take. What began with a painful car accident ultimately introduced him to a career he loves, a business he believes in, and an opportunity to help people improve their quality of life every day.
Law grew up in Palatka, Florida, and eventually made his way to Birmingham, Alabama, where he spent about six years and completed his degree. After finishing his time at UAB, he accepted a position with Life Time Fitness. Then, a car accident changed everything.
The accident left Law with several herniated discs and significant pain. While going through his own recovery, a colleague who had opened a Stretch Zone nearby suggested he give practitioner-assisted stretching a try.
“I was sold after the first session,” Law says. “It helped me more than the generalized physical therapy I had gone through or even chiropractic care.”
That experience sparked a new career path. Law joined Stretch Zone and spent the next eight years learning the business from the ground up. He worked his way from an entry-level position to Assistant General Manager, General Manager, and Regional Manager. When the opportunity recently came to purchase the Braselton location, a place he already knew and loved, he knew it was the right next step.
“I love helping people, and I love the field that I’m in,” Law says. “When I had the opportunity to purchase the store I know and love, I knew I needed to take the opportunity God had provided me.”
The Braselton location has been part of the community for six years, and Law officially became its owner four months ago. Today, he leads a team of five with a simple philosophy: focus on the individual.
Stretch Zone uses practitioner-assisted stretching and patented techniques designed to gradually improve flexibility, mobility, posture, and muscular balance. But for Law, the most important part isn't the technique itself. It is understanding what each client wants to accomplish.
“Quality of life is always at the forefront,” he explains. “We isolate a goal and work on that goal intently.”
Law also believes clients should leave with more than a good stretch. Education is an important part of the experience, helping people understand their bodies and become active participants in their own wellness.
His favorite part of the job is seeing that knowledge and effort translate into real results. Watching someone regain mobility, return to an activity they love, or simply move through daily life with less discomfort is what keeps Law motivated.
He is also a strong believer in being proactive rather than waiting for pain to dictate your next move. “Being preventative is of utmost importance,” he says. “Stretching, while simple, is a fantastic modality to do that, especially when someone else is doing it for you.”
Outside of work, Law is looking forward to marrying his fiancée, Mary, who lives in Birmingham and, in his words, is “the light of my life.” He also hopes to become even more involved in the local community, building relationships with other businesses and finding new opportunities to give back. Stretch Zone Braselton has previously supported Tunnel to Towers, and Law is actively looking for additional ways to contribute.
For Law, owning Stretch Zone isn't simply about running a business. It is about taking something that personally helped change the course of his life and using it to help others do the same.
