Millie the “Aussie” – A Mate Indeed

An expert sock gatherer and even better escape artist, Millie is also an undeniable beauty

Upper Brookville resident, Katie Ello, welcomed Millie into her home two years ago. She remembers the day and time she arrived from her Oklahoma breeder.

“She was in a big van with a few other Australian Shepherds and likely very scared as she was just 8 weeks old. But the moment she got out of the van at around 5 pm on Nov. 2nd, 2021, she knew she found her forever home!” she recalls.

Millie is Katie’s second Australian Shepherd, clearly fond of the breed. And Katie isn’t the only one. The Australian Shepherd has captured the hearts of dog lovers around the world. Known for their striking appearance, intelligence, and unwavering loyalty, Australian Shepherds are a breed apart. Their expressive eyes, often one of their most captivating features, are a window into their sharp minds and playful spirits.
