We recently had an opportunity to spend time getting to know Michelle and Julia at Abbington Senior Living. Abbington is celebrating their one year anniversary this month!
Who does Abbington serve? Our seniors! We enjoy all our residents but our "typical" residents are social, and enjoy activities and outings. Our residents are those needing some help and support with the activities of daily living. We provide a warm, intimate, family-like atmosphere for the seniors we serve.
How does your business differentiate itself from others in your industry?
Our team!
The Management team and most of our front-line team members have all worked together for years; even as far back as 1999! We have an Executive Chef and are well-known for our food; which includes many choices, flavor, and lots of variety.
We are true experts in our field!
We have 5 certified managers on staff. Our philosophy is simply "To Improve the Lives of Others". We do whatever it takes to make our seniors' lives better.
We are also a resource!
If anyone needs guidance on how assisted living operates, you can call or stop in and we will help.
Meet Julia:
I have been working in the senior housing industry for over 30 years, and I LOVE it! I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from The University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. I have been an active Board Chair with The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) for over 7 years. Opening The Abbington at Gilbert is truly a dream come true! I love spending my time with my husband Dan and family. I am triple blessed with 3 grandchildren, Hazel, Ruby and Hunter.
Meet Michelle:
Originally from Illinois, I have worked most of my career in the long-term care industry, mostly in leadership roles. I have held the positions of Activity Director, Memory Care Director, Executive Director and Sales and Marketing Director. I have my Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, am a Certified Assisted Living Managers License and am a Dementia Certified Practioner. I have also worked at Banner Health as a Patient Relations and Service Excellence department for 10 years.
