Introducing Brian Goldrick from Stonebridge Ledger & Advisory Services

Where did you grow up? How long have you lived in the area? Tell us about your family
I grew up in Washington, spending nearly 30 years of my life there. I grew up playing sports and anything that kept me active. I played soccer through college and dabbled a little in semi-pro arenas before graduating from Western Washington University. I met my wife, Engy, while at college and we married shortly after graduation. We have two amazing girls, Ireland (15) and Emersen (14). Since moving down here full-time in 2021, we have acclimated both to the weather and the people here in Gilbert. As a family, we couldn't be happier with our decision to move here and are excited to be members of this amazing community.

I love staying active and going to the gym with my wife, golfing, and playing pickleball.

Tell us about the events that led up to where you are now…
I graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Finance and a minor in Accounting. I began my career in public accounting with a regional audit firm, where I developed a strong technical foundation before transitioning to government auditing. In that role, I was responsible for assessing the financial practices of local governments, ensuring taxpayer funds were properly managed and safeguarded, and evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls designed to prevent misuse and fraud.

After more than 12 years in audit, I shifted into the private sector, supporting startups and high-growth organizations in building scalable accounting infrastructures, budgeting frameworks, and operational processes. My work centered on developing meaningful Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that helped leadership maintain focus on long-term strategic objectives, particularly revenue expansion, operational efficiency, and workforce growth. I found significant fulfillment in partnering with executives to design 3–5 year growth plans supported by actionable, measurable financial metrics.

Following more than two decades in corporate finance and accounting leadership roles, I chose to pursue greater autonomy over my work and time by establishing Stonebridge Ledger & Advisory Services. My passion lies in helping business owners realize their full potential by relieving them of the financial burden that often consumes their time and attention. By taking ownership of their financial operations, I enable leaders to focus on what matters most: growing and advancing their businesses.

What is your business, how/why did you start your business?
Stonebridge Ledger & Advisory Services was founded to bridge the gap between modern financial management and the challenges faced by growing businesses seeking clearer visibility into their financial performance. Sound decision-making relies on accurate, timely financial information, and many emerging companies lack the expertise or structure necessary to support that level of insight.

I am passionate about partnering with business owners to understand their unique challenges and develop practical, strategic solutions. My approach focuses not only on addressing immediate operational needs but also on identifying the steps required over the next 6, 12, and 18 months to achieve long-term goals that we define together.

By managing the financial backbone of the organization, Stonebridge enables business owners to concentrate on what they do best, leading and expanding their companies. My priority is to ensure that financial data is reliable, accessible, and actionable so leaders can make informed, real-time decisions without the burden of sorting through complex records or correcting past inaccuracies.

What is unique about your business?
Most bookkeeping firms offer transactional support. Stonebridge brings more than two decades of experience spanning public accounting, government auditing, multi-entity corporate environments, and VC-backed startups. This breadth provides clients with a level of financial insight and operational understanding that standard bookkeeping services simply cannot match.

Unlike larger firms that treat clients as transactions, Stonebridge builds genuine partnerships. Clients benefit from a dedicated advisor who understands their industry, challenges, and long-term goals. This high-touch model ensures owners receive personalized support that aligns with their vision for growth.

Stonebridge exists to strengthen an owner’s ability to make informed, confident decisions. The goal is not to take financial control away from the owner, but to provide clarity, structure, and expertise that allows leadership to focus on what they do best, running and expanding the business.

Many businesses come to Stonebridge after years of inaccurate books, unreconciled accounts, missing controls, and unreliable reporting. Stonebridge specializes in reconstructing financials, implementing systems, establishing controls, and restoring confidence in the numbers, something most bookkeeping firms are not equipped to handle.

Stonebridge provides timely, accurate reporting and accessible communication so that owners are equipped to make informed decisions when they matter, not weeks or months later.

Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice can you offer to Val Vista Lakes neighbors?
Rather than adopting a “do it all yourself” approach as a business owner, leaders are most effective when they focus on their core strengths and rely on experienced professionals for specialized support. Stonebridge provides precise, reliable financial insights that empower informed, strategic decision-making in the best interest of your business.

What else should we know about you, your family, or your business?
My family and I relocated to Gilbert several years ago in search of better opportunities and a community where we could grow roots. That experience reinforced how important clarity, preparation, and financial stability truly are, both personally and professionally. Stonebridge Ledger was built on those principles. I work closely with clients not just as an advisor, but as someone who understands the pressures of building something meaningful. My work is guided by the belief that when business owners have reliable financial insight, they are better positioned to build strong futures for their families, teams, and communities.

I am also an avid Seattle Sounders fan!
