What is FullCircle Program?
FullCircle Program is an innovative program just ten minutes away from Val Vista Lakes. They offer a wide array of services relating to teen and young adult self-destructive behaviors such as: substance abuse, self-harm, eating disorders, pornography addiction and much more. By providing education, prevention, assessments, support, and referrals to appropriate services, they meet the needs of families in what is often their darkest hours, in a manner that respects each family’s values on a confidential basis.
At the core of FullCircle’s services are their support groups, designed to address the needs of young adults and teens who struggle with substance use or other high-risk behaviors, and their parents.
What makes FullCircle so successful is their unique approach in building a social community around the young person. Jenny Cook, Full Circle volunteer believes that the program is so successful because, “It is peer led. Kids listen to other kids, whether it’s good counsel or not. FullCircle allows young people who are committed to living full, fun, sober lives, to show other youth who are struggling, a way to recovery and freedom. It is genius and it works. My daughter who began attending FullCircle in high school is over eight years sober now.”
Leslie Maupin found the resources at Full Circle to be important for her whole family. “Full Circle was not only a lifesaver for my teenager, but also for me! Attending the parent support group gave me a safe space to talk through the chaos of parenting an addict, support from others who had walked the same or similar roads, and showed me that I was not alone.”
“What blew me away was observing the participants as they gathered together for their meetings. There was so much laughter and real connection,” according to Nick Rizzo, volunteer.
“When I first heard the kids in the FullCircle band I thought - when do these kids have any time to do anything but practice? They are amazing.” Nick Rizzo
