In the vibrant city of St. Petersburg, where creativity and community go hand in hand, the St. Petersburg Woman’s Club continues to make a meaningful impact through its Community Service Program in Art & Culture. More than just an appreciation of the arts, this program reflects a deeper mission—bringing people together, supporting local initiatives, and celebrating creativity in all its forms.
Under the leadership of Marianne Snyder, the Art & Culture program has become a dynamic force within the club. With energy and vision, she keeps members actively engaged in the cultural pulse of the community while creating opportunities to serve. From volunteering at beloved local events like St. Vincent de Paul’s Empty Bowls and the Mainsail Art Festival, to ushering students during live performances at the Duke Energy Center, members are consistently immersed in experiences that blend service with artistic enrichment.
Beyond volunteering, the program fosters connection through shared cultural exploration. Organized group outings to exhibits and events—such as Embracing Our Differences, Art in Bloom, and the Morean Center for Clay—offer members a chance to stay inspired and informed about the ever-evolving arts scene in St. Petersburg. These experiences not only deepen appreciation for the arts but also strengthen the bonds among members.
Creativity within the club is equally celebrated. The annual SPWC Art & Craft competition highlights the talents of its members, encouraging them to showcase their work and share their artistic voices. Winners advancing to the District Arts Competition bring pride to the club, reflecting both individual talent and a collective spirit of encouragement and support.
At its core, the Art & Culture Community Service Program is about more than attending events or creating art—it’s about connection. It’s about showing up for the community, supporting local initiatives, and nurturing creativity at every level. Through this program, the St. Petersburg Woman’s Club continues to demonstrate that art is not only something to be admired, but something to be lived, shared, and used as a powerful tool for service.
