Experience the joy and delight of making your own beautiful flower arrangements. With Erica Holland, owner of The Roaming Petal, this dream is now a reality. Having had a mobile flower workshop company for the last 3 years she recently partnered with flower friend Arms of Persephone floral to open a flower shop right here in North Saint Pete, where you can not only come and purchase a beautiful arrangement for any occasion, but you can take a class in their beautiful new workshop space and truly immerse yourself in connecting with flowers. 

This new shop is a place to relax, connect, and just play. It includes a beautiful workshop space where guests can take a class on their monthly calendar or host their own private experience. It also has a full flower retail and gift shop, complete with a seed vending machine and even a flower drive thru where you can pull up and grab flowers on the go. It's perfect for those in a hurry but needing something beautiful. Lastly, in the back, they have a cute little garden area to sit and relax with a book or enjoy during a private event. 

“I got started after I was living and working in Bali,” explains Erica. A graphic designer prior to going to Bali, her love for flowers came alive in this tropical country. “I fell in love with the Bali culture and how they used beautiful flowers in their ceremonies, traditions, and made them a part of their everyday life.

“I always had a passion for flowers, but never pursued it,” admits Erica. In Bali, she had the opportunity to do so. She recalls working with the women in Bali to make floral arrangements that allowed her to reconnect with her creativity and release all the stress she had from working on a computer.

When she returned to the United States, Erica started working with wedding florists before blazing her own trail in life. She decided to start her own business teaching others how to create beautiful arrangements and experience the same joy she felt while working with flowers.

The Roaming Petal offers flower arranging workshops, floral crafts, and build-your-own bouquet bars for private, public, and corporate events, both mobile and now in their new flower shop. They set up all the flowers, vases, and supplies, and guide participants step-by-step in creating stunning arrangements. Erica caters to any type of event or occasion, from intimate gatherings to team building events, and even flower retreats. She can even partner with local businesses to create unforgettable events that will impress, such as mocktails and flowers, beef and bouquets, herbal classes, painting and arranging, yoga, and so much more.  

What sets The Roaming Petal apart is its focus on education and creating a therapeutic experience. Erica wants everyone to feel the joy and connection that comes from working with flowers, even those who may not have pursued a career as a florist. She provides tips and techniques to help participants keep their arrangements looking beautiful both during and after the workshop. 

The Roaming Petal is currently expanding its offerings to include floral workshops online and classes for kids to craft with nature. Erica believes that working with flowers can be a natural way to destress and relax, and she wants to share this experience with more people.

Erica's journey with flowers started years ago, and it has taken her on a path of self-discovery and fulfillment. Her passion for flowers is contagious, and she wants to share it with as many people as possible. 

“I like seeing the joy and excitement when people create their arrangements,” concludes Erica. “Often, people have no idea how to make an arrangement when they start, and they are ecstatic when they make something beautiful. They can’t believe it. That simple happiness and smile is what it is all about.”
