Meet Jennifer Beltz, Personal Injury Lawyer and Estate Planning Attorney

By Elizabeth McCabe

If you’ve been injured in a car crash, experienced a dog bite, faced nursing home abuse, or simply need a trusted attorney to create an estate plan, Jennifer Beltz is a name many in the community already know.
You could say that law runs in her blood. Jennifer followed in her father’s footsteps as a second-generation attorney at Beltz & Beltz with more than 30 years practicing law. She excels in helping clients navigate some of the most difficult chapters of their lives. A St. Petersburg native who has served the Venetian Isles community since 2000, she brings decades of courtroom experience to every case she handles.
Her firm focuses on personal injury law, including car crashes, premises liability, dog bites, nursing home abuse, and financial exploitation cases, as well as estate planning services. Whether guiding a family through the aftermath of a serious injury or protecting assets for future generations, Jennifer approaches each case with clarity and compassion.
“Some clients are experiencing the worst situation of their lives,” she says. “If we can ease that suffering and help them get back to where they were before — as much as possible — that’s incredibly fulfilling.”
Jennifer handles cases from start to finish, including through jury trial when necessary. “We’ve tried every kind of case there is,” she explains. “When someone is hurt, we’re always happy to see if we can help.”
Her firm offers free consultations for both personal injury and estate planning matters. In personal injury cases, Beltz & Beltz works on a contingency fee basis, meaning there’s no fee unless they recover compensation for the client.
Beyond representing injured clients, Jennifer strongly believes in proactive planning.
“Everyone needs an estate plan,” she says. “And when it comes to auto accidents, people should understand what their insurance policy actually covers. Many purchase insurance online and don’t fully understand their coverage. We’ll review policies and explain how they work in the event of a crash.”
Law has long been part of Jennifer’s life. Her father, Larry Beltz, was a well-known and highly respected attorney. Although she briefly considered becoming a doctor while in college, she ultimately followed her childhood dream of becoming a lawyer. She clerked at her father’s firm during summers in law school and built a career grounded in both mentorship and hard work.
Today, many of her clients come through referrals, including former clients returning for estate planning, or friends and family members recommended through word of mouth. That loyalty speaks volumes about the dedication that Jennifer devotes to her profession.
When she’s not in the courtroom or meeting with clients, Jennifer enjoys time with her family. She and her partner, Matthew Wirth, owner of Palm Construction and Restoration Services, have been together since 2003. Their daughter, Victoria, 17, is a competitive softball player who also plays flag football and keeps the family busy traveling for tournaments.
Weekends often include boating, relaxing by the pool, exploring local restaurants, or traveling. The family loves vacations, from Portugal and Spain to Vancouver, New York City for New Year’s Eve in Times Square, and summers spent living like locals in different destinations. “We like trying new food and different experiences,” Jennifer says.
Jennifer says she loves living in Venetian Isles.
“I love that we are on the water,” she shares. “I also like that everyone maintains their properties.” She also looks forward to the drive home and the view she takes in every time she drives over the bridge. “It’s so beautiful,” she smiles.
After three decades in law, Jennifer Beltz remains deeply committed to serving her clients, helping families through crises, protecting their futures, and making a lasting difference in the community she calls home.
