Passing the Torch: A Chiropractor’s Journey to Legacy

Approximately three years ago, I made the decision to retire from chiropractic as a solo practitioner. The office I had built from scratch nearly 36 years ago. I wasn’t just looking for someone to take over the practice; I was looking for someone who truly understood the dual role of a private practitioner—both as a healthcare provider and an administrator.

There were many offers. Yet, none of them felt right. Something was always missing—until the day Dr. Dominick Ranieri III walked into my office with his wife and family.

From the moment they stepped inside, I knew it was the right fit. Dr. Ranieri had a smile that stretched ear to ear. He was a family man—his wife by his side, their two beautiful children waiting patiently in the van as they took turns coming inside to get a clear, uninterrupted feel for the office. Their sincerity, warmth, and teamwork immediately struck a chord with me.

I was so moved by their presence that I found myself filled with hope and excitement. At one point, Dr. Ranieri even FaceTimed his father, walking him through the space virtually. I remember his words to his father clearly: “It looks even better in person than in the ad.” That moment sealed it for me, I knew he was the right one.

Having worked in the Lauderdale area for the past 36 years, I recognized the time had come to pass the torch. Dr. Ranieri had the technical expertise, but more importantly, he had the heart—the passion needed to stay mentally and emotionally connected to patients’ needs.

From that initial meeting, everything moved forward smoothly. We entered into a contractual agreement, and it truly felt like a match made in heaven.

Today, Dr. Dominick Ranieri is the solo practitioner at the office, and I am proud to say he has retained nearly 100% of the patients I cared for over the past 35+ years. Knowing my patients continue to be treated with dignity, respect, and genuine care fills me with pride and peace.

The legacy of Brickell Chiropractic Center now lives on as “Coast to Coast Chiropractic” in the hands, hearts, and minds of my incredible staff—Michelle and Stephany—and under the compassionate leadership of Dr. Dominick Ranieri III and his lovely family.

My heart swells with gratitude for the opportunity to pass on this work to someone worthy. To Dr. Dominick, his family, my patients, and my team: may you continue this journey with strength, love, positivity and success.

Sincerely,
Dr. Keith S. Brickell

Dr. Dominick Ranieri of Coast To Coast Chiropractic Health, who has settled in Victoria Park with his family, is excited to be living and working in the Fort Lauderdale area.

“There is so much growth potential here, and we are already seeing it start to be actualized. It is a really awesome time to be here,” Dr. Ranieri says.

Dr. Ranieri, who has an overwhelming compulsion to help people, realized at the age of 16 that the only thing which brought him true gratification was helping others. He attended Syracuse University and then went on to Life University in Atlanta for his chiropractic studies.

At Life University, his mission and vision evolved. He originally planned to have a sports injury and pain management clinic, but that all changed after Dr. Ranieri suffered a serious brain injury while biking in the Carpathian Mountains in Romania.

“It was so bad, it made me stupid,” Dr. Ranieri stated. “It actually locked me out of my ability to think. I could barely speak and was very sensitive to light and sound.”

Dr. Ranieri was lucky because Life University pioneered the post-concussion syndrome protocols in the entire field of chiropractic called functional neurology. He got seen on campus and started care. Two weeks after starting care, Dr. Ranieri had to take his first licensing exam for chiropractic – which is actually six exams over the course of more than nine hours. Amazingly, Dr. Ranieri passed it the first time when he could barely form a sentence two weeks prior.

“That’s when the light bulb came on that I didn’t just want to be a pain management doctor. I wanted to be a human optimization doctor – somebody who helps others perform better than they realized they could because there were limitations within their body that they were unaware of,” Dr. Ranieri explained.

The practice is family focused and neurologically focused. By working to connect the brain to the body, Dr. Ranieri’s practice does so much more than just back and neck pain. He wants your body to function the way that it is designed to.

Using CLA Insight Technology, Dr. Ranieri is able to evaluate how well your brain is able to communicate with your body with the goal being to maximize the inate healing potential that is within your body.

“We work to remove the stress that’s inside your body so that you can better handle the stress that is outside of your body, Dr. Ranieri says.

People don’t realize how important that it is to have your spine and nervous system evaluated by a professional like Dr. Ranieri, especially if they are dealing with chronic issues that don’t seem to be getting any better or if they really want to function at the maximum of their potential.

“We help to take this burden off of you so that you are able to continue doing the things you love or get back to doing the things you love, and you will be able to do them longer into your life” Dr. Ranieri states.

Outside of work, spending time with his family is important to Dr. Ranieri. He and his wife, Monica, have two young daughters, Zena and Josie. They enjoy going to the beach, the pool and the parks along with dining out together. There are also two cats, Bagheera and Baloo.

A good part of his family lives in South Florida as well so he is able to spend a lot of time with them. In fact, he treats all of his family members including his mother, father and sisters as well as his grandfather, who is 92, and his grandmother who is 86.
