Guardians of Your Home: How Quality Termite & Pest Control Stands Apart
More Than a Business – A Commitment to Customers, Employees and Family

Jenny Chapter and her team
Are you looking for a trusted, local pest control company to handle all of your pest control and termite needs?
Look no further than Quality Termite & Pest Control!
Owner Jenny Chapter, a third generation pest control company owner, began at the age of seven. “I started in the sand piles,” Jenny stated. Sand bags, known in the industry as “sand snakes” were once used as weights to hold and seal tarps to the ground for structural fumigation. The industry now uses fire hoses filled with water.
It is truly a family legacy as her grandparents, Harvey and Joyce Smades, started in the pest control business in the 1960’s. Her parents, Harvey and Becky Smades, followed.
“This is a family operation, we treat our customers and employees like family,” Jenny stated. “I enjoy meeting new people, and we always strive to make sure each customer is happy. I enjoy educating property owners about the prevalence of termites and the importance of preventative measures while being able to save their homes and businesses in the process.”
Quality Termite & Pest Control offers a multitude of services to include structural/tent fumigation, no tent termite treatments, pre-construction soil treatments, general household pest control and rodent/critter control. Quality also offers insulation for the attic space.
Experts in Handling Termites
The company is an expert in aggressively treating all termites, especially Formosan termites, which came from China and are being found throughout the counties and are extremely destructive.
“We are really strong on termites. We have several species of termites that we battle here in Florida," Jenny explained. “There are millions in a subterranean colony, they move quickly and cause millions of dollars in destruction each year. It is important to have annual inspections and take preventative measures to protect your property. You don’t realize what is going on behind your walls and in your attic until it’s too late."
Swarm season for termites is from mid-March through August when everything is blooming, breeding and swarming.
“When season starts, it’s like a light switch, it’s on,” Jenny says. “After a heavy downpour, we know it is coming.”
Quality Termite & Pest Control also offers thermoacoustical pest control insulation. Insulation settles over time and code changes. It is important to have the attic inspected to see where your levels are. Quality can add insulation to bring you up to code. In some cases, Quality will recommend a whole attic restoration which involves extracting contaminated insulation, sanitizing the attic space and blowing in fresh, bringing you up to code.
Quality is one of the few companies in South Florida with broad experience in dealing with bird control and bird proofing. Jenny has a Master Certification in the nuisance of birds and pigeons. Birds can become a health hazard for humans.
What Sets Quality Termite & Pest Control Apart From Others
What separates Quality apart from other pest control companies is quality work, superb customer service and attention to detail. “We respect the homes and treat the property like it’s our own,” Jenny explained. “We take pride in the service that is provided and ensure work is performed properly with the latest science in our products.”
Jenny is a wealth of knowledge and stays on top of the latest trends as she is continuously educating herself. She is a member of and attends a couple of conferences each year with the (FPMA) the Florida Pest Management Association, which features leaders of the industry and manufacturers along with (NPMA) the National Pest Management Association to learn about the latest science and products available for commercial use.
Jenny said, “It is important to stay in tune with the industry in every aspect. Things are constantly evolving, and we need to evolve with them."
A Mentor to Her Team
Jenny not only prioritizes taking care of her customers, but she also takes great care of her employees. She is a mentor to her team and enjoys seeing them flourish. “I love to watch them grow, and I am supporting of them all the way,” expressed Jenny.
One of Jenny’s employees, George Butler, who has worked at Quality for more than seven years, gets so many 5-star reviews. “It is a great testament to George," Jenny stated. "George is currently signed up to take his first state exam in the pest control industry. Jenny has hopes that he will open his own one day. He has earned his wings at Quality and is fully capable. I am here to push and cheerlead him all the way through," says Jenny.
Jenny’s Family
Outside of her business, Jenny is a mother to three daughters, Casey (25), Calyn (20) and Addison (12). The family is extremely close and enjoys spending quality time together. Jenny hopes that there will be a fourth generation one day; however, she does not push the business on her girls. She wants them to enjoy what they decide to pursue in life and is supportive of their goals.
Advice to Homeowners
Her advice to all homeowners is to have your home inspected every year. “It is important for a professional to come out and look for any indication of termites and other structure invading pests,” Jenny emphasized. Quality provides termite inspections free of charge.
