Meet Chloe: The Adventurous Pup

Meet Chloe, a dog with an easygoing nature

Chloe, a lovable seven-year-old mutt, is believed to be part German Shepherd and part Blue Heeler. She joined the McCown family after they discovered her at LARAS House in Mexia. While searching for the perfect pup in Waco didn’t quite work out, a trip to Mexia made all the difference. After sharing with the shelter staff what they were looking for, they were quickly introduced to Chloe—and it was love at first sight.
Since then, Chloe has been a joyful companion with a big personality. She’s incredibly social, always eager to meet new people and other dogs. Of course, there are a few exceptions—feral hogs and porcupines don’t make her favorites list! Chloe enjoys her daily neighborhood walks and lights up when she gets to join her family on bigger adventures like hiking, camping, or backpacking.
Summer brings out one of Chloe’s quirkiest habits: she simply cannot resist cicadas. On her daily walks, she’s known to snack on them like little treats. She also loves the water—whether it’s ponds, creeks, lakes, or even the occasional swimming pool—but don’t expect her to enjoy bath time or rainy days.
Her family is grateful for the wonderful care Chloe receives from South Bosque Veterinary Clinic. They also love sharing one of their favorite tips with fellow dog owners: the Noxgear Lighthound Harness is a must for evening or early morning walks, helping keep pups safe and visible in the dark.
Chloe may have her quirks, but that’s part of what makes her so special. Whether she’s out adventuring or curled up at home, she’s a sweet, loyal companion who brings endless joy to her family.
