Alison Sloan is a local author, teacher, and professional editor. In 2019, she left full-time teaching after seven years and developed her own online curriculum, providing writing classes to students worldwide; she even taught her illustrator! She has enjoyed getting to work from home for the last five years and the flexibility it provides. 

Since 2023, she has also been using her writing skills to create her own books and professionally edit others. Her first children’s book, Dilly-Dally Allie, published in August of 2024, was inspired by the nickname given to her for her time-management struggles. Alison has had the privilege of getting to read her book to classrooms around town and connect with students in the community. She is also currently working with two teenagers to get their novel series published.  

Alison, her husband, and two children have wanted to move to Twin Rivers since 2016 when Alison’s parents moved into the neighborhood. After doing some renovations to their house last fall, the Sloans finally moved to Twin Rivers in November 2024 and have enjoyed getting to officially be part of the community. You can catch them on walks with their dog or swimming at the pool.
