The 50th anniversary of the Memorial Tournament, hosted by Jack Nicklaus at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, began with a field of 72 golfers and concluded with a thrilling 20-hole playoff victory by J.T. Poston. Poston’s win over Ryan Gerard marked the 11th playoff in tournament history and the first since 2023.

The tournament also continued its longstanding commitment to philanthropy. The annual Legends Luncheon raised $1.5 million for Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation, furthering the event’s mission of giving back to the community.

Players faced challenging conditions throughout the week, with strong winds and firm course conditions resulting in only 11 competitors finishing the first two rounds under par and advancing to the weekend with subpar scores.

Looking ahead, the 52nd edition of the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday is scheduled for May 31–June 6, 2027, at the world-renowned Muirfield Village Golf Club.

The Memorial Tournament relies on a strong volunteer tradition with more than 3,000 volunteers each year. In recognition of the Memorial's 50th anniversary, six individuals who have volunteered at every Memorial Tournament since 1976 were honored as Volunteer of the Year recipients. For an event held at Muirfield Village Golf Club, the volunteer force is one of the largest annual sporting-event volunteer programs in Central Ohio and is essential to both tournament operations and the millions of dollars raised for charity each year.
