Red Rock Park Improvements

The Next Phase

Sarasota County is excited to share an update on park improvements at Red Rock Park. Over the past nine months the park has received some initial improvements including the completion of the Public Utilities Vacuum Station upgrade, painting of the building, upgrading of the open play field and installation of a new ADA accessible water fountain with bottle filler. Currently the restrooms are being updated with new flooring, doors and fixtures as well as upgraded lighting.
The next phase of park improvements includes expanding and upgrading playground equipment, picnic shelters and other park amenities. The scope of the improvements depends on available funding for the project. Replacement of some playground equipment, fencing and benches are already funded (Option A); however, concept plans B and C show additional improvements and upgrades that are possible within the park if supplementary dollars can be secured.

Option A - $150,000 (currently funded)
Option B - $250,000 total cost ($100,000 additional dollars needed)
Option C - $500,000 total cost ($350,000 additional dollars needed)
