DOGPerfect
A Destination for Whole-Dog Wellness
DOGPerfect is more than a pet store—it’s a thoughtfully designed destination created entirely around dogs. From healthier, high-quality nutrition to grooming and enrichment, everything at DOGPerfect supports whole-dog wellness, inside and out. The goal is simple: help dogs feel their best while creating a welcoming, stress-free experience for both pets and their people.
Whether customers are stopping in for their regular food order or browsing for a new seasonal toy or treat, DOGPerfect is a place dogs are meant to visit alongside their humans. Wide aisles allow pups to explore comfortably, lower display heights maintain clear sightlines, and intuitive pathways help dogs pass—or politely avoid—one another. It’s a store where dogs are known by name and the bond between people and their pets is genuinely celebrated.
How DOGPerfect Began
DOGPerfect was founded by lifelong dog lovers Rob and Linda Emery, inspired by their own dogs—Roger, Layla, and Emmie—who showed them what a truly dog-friendly store should feel like. Drawing from years of experience in business, nonprofit leadership, and community advocacy, the Emerys envisioned a premium, service-driven concept that paired trusted expertise with a warm, neighborhood feel.
They recognized a gap in the market: pet parents wanted healthier nutrition, thoughtful guidance, and a place that truly welcomed dogs. DOGPerfect was created to meet that need, blending expert care with an inviting environment designed from a dog’s point of view. Today, that vision has grown into a thriving brand with five locations and plans for continued expansion.
What Sets DOGPerfect Apart
DOGPerfect takes a holistic approach to canine care. Nutrition is a cornerstone, with personalized recommendations that support health from the inside out. But wellness doesn’t stop at the bowl. Dogs also need to feel comfortable in their skin and coat, which is why DOGPerfect pairs nutrition with expert grooming services.
At the Landings of Sarasota location—just a few miles from Southside Village—full-service grooming delivers results you can see and feel, from soothing itchy skin to restoring coat shine. Together, nutrition and grooming work hand in hand to support dogs’ comfort, confidence, and long-term health.
The Most Rewarding Part of the Work
What the DOGPerfect team finds most fulfilling is building real relationships—with both customers and their dogs. Getting to know dogs by name and supporting their health over time turns a routine visit into something meaningful.
Giving back is equally important. Through DOGPerfect Cares initiatives, the company partners with local rescue organizations by donating food and supplies, hosting adoption events, and providing grooming services to help rescue dogs prepare for their forever homes. To date, DOGPerfect has donated more than 100,000 meals to pets in need.
Advice for Local Dog Parents
DOGPerfect encourages residents to take a whole-dog approach to care. A dog’s wellbeing is shaped by how nutrition, grooming, mental enrichment, and daily routines work together.
Pet parents are encouraged to observe their dogs closely. Subtle changes in energy, digestion, skin, coat, or behavior often signal that something needs adjusting. Small, informed changes—like improving food quality, adding enrichment, or maintaining consistent grooming—can make a meaningful difference over time. And don’t hesitate to ask for help. When dog parents feel supported and informed, dogs thrive.
Who Can Benefit from DOGPerfect
DOGPerfect is ideal for dog parents looking for more than a traditional pet supply store. If you care about your dog’s health and happiness and want guidance you can trust, you’ll feel right at home. With healthier nutrition options, personalized recommendations, and a space where dogs are encouraged to come along, DOGPerfect makes caring for your dog easier and more enjoyable.

Linda Emery grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts and has lived in Florida since 1991. A cancer survivor and longtime patient advocate, she is a co-owner of DOGPerfect and leads marketing, community outreach, and nonprofit partnerships. Her background includes co-founding ME STRONG, a 501(c)(3) that has raised millions for cancer research and patient empowerment, shaping DOGPerfect’s purpose-driven culture.
Rob Emery, Founder and CEO, was born in Canada and moved to Michigan in 1988 before settling full-time in Sarasota in 2013. Community at the Core
Community involvement is central to DOGPerfect’s mission. In addition to supporting local rescues, the company contributes to fundraising events, participates in local gatherings, and hosts giveback programs through its stores. Linda also serves on the Humane Society of Sarasota County Board of Directors, extending DOGPerfect’s commitment to animal welfare beyond its storefronts.
Looking Ahead
DOGPerfect will open its fifth location in Parrish this February and will introduce franchising opportunities later this year, inviting like-minded individuals to bring the DOGPerfect experience to their own neighborhoods.
