Meet Siesta, the mischievous Bernedoodle who's taken the Scott family by storm! At 4.5 years old, Siesta has blossomed into a beloved companion since joining the family just before Valentine’s Day in 2021. Corey and Megan Scott are originally from Maine, but they had long dreamed of living near the stunning beaches of Siesta Key. They decided to pay homage to the area with her name, despite fears of it sounding too touristy. The day they brought her home, they were concerned she might feel sad during the hour-long trip. Instead, Siesta napped soundly, solidifying her place in the family as well as the perfect name.

 Now that the Scotts have settled into their new home in Sarasota, Siesta’s love for walks has only intensified. She relishes her daily strolls, greeting everyone with enthusiastic tail wags and cheerful barks. Although her towering stature may intimidate some dogs, her sweet heart shines through. Siesta is truly a gentle giant, eager to make friends but perhaps a bit overpowering for her smaller companions.

 One of the most endearing traits about Siesta is her tenderhearted nature. Whenever a family member feels down, Siesta is right there, nuzzling and offering comfort. She has a unique talent as well—she rings the doorbell! This quirky trick started to prevent door damage with their previous dog, but now it serves as Siesta’s way of communicating when she wants to go out or is ready for dinner. Pretty smart!

 And who could forget the sock incident? An amusing mishap that will go down in family lore, Siesta once swallowed a sock and later gifted her owners with a surprise of both a mouse and that pesky sock after a little help from the vet. 

 As they embrace the West of the Trail lifestyle, the Scotts find that Siesta brings joy, laughs, and a touch of adventure to their everyday lives, perfectly encapsulating the family spirit! Corey and Megan Scott are excellent mortgage brokers, and have a team with HarborView Mortgage.
