The most creative day in Sarasota

PINC—an acronym representing People, Ideas, Nature, and Community

The most creative day in Sarasota is set to return to the Opera House on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The event, known as PINC—an acronym representing People, Ideas, Nature, and Community—originated from the vision of Harbor Acres residents Anand Pallegar and Julia Groom. As an initiative of DreamLarge and presented by Ringling College of Art & Design, PINC aims to provide “a day of intellectual indulgence” featuring ten thought-provoking speakers from a diverse array of disciplines, who will engage attendees in exploration of innovation and creativity while fostering a renewed sense of community.
PINC was conceived with the objective of elevating Sarasota's status as one of the premier cities in the world. Anand’s organization, DreamLarge, serves as the primary catalyst for this event, which was introduced to Sarasota after a 20-year presence in the Netherlands. Since its inception, PINC has captivated global audiences through unexpected experiences and compelling storytelling.
PINC Sarasota first launched in 2014 at Florida Studio Theatre, where it achieved a sold-out audience. In 2016, the event transitioned to the historic Sarasota Opera House in response to increasing ticket demand. Over the years, PINC has solidified its reputation as the essential event of the season in Sarasota, renowned for its creativity.
The event aims to foster diverse perspectives among participants and stimulate innovative ideas. With an overarching aim of transformation, PINC encourages attendees to reconsider their worldviews and embrace a renewed commitment to effecting positive change. The program features ten speakers from various disciplines, whose identities are disclosed only on the day of the event. The schedule consists of four segments, supplemented by intermissions and breaks for networking and discussion. Breakfast, lunch, and a closing reception will be provided, facilitating intimate dialogue between participants and speakers. PINC attracts thought leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, specialists, designers, artists, scientists, and individuals seeking to engage their intellectual and emotional capacities.
In addition to the main event, PINC will host an Afterparty at the Sarasota Modern located in the Rosemary Art & Design District. Furthermore, the PINC Ideas Dinner is an esteemed gathering for culinary enthusiasts, featuring speakers, partners, and other distinguished guests. This dinner is scheduled for Friday, December 12, from 6 PM to 10 PM in the Rosemary District.
PINC also facilitates the exchange of meaningful ideas through the PINC Book Exchange. Attendees are invited to bring a book of personal significance, inscribe a meaningful message within, wrap it attractively, and place it on the book table in exchange for another book.
This coming fall, PINC will expand its offerings with the launch of a monthly series titled Compact Evenings: Expansive Ideas. This PINC Local series will extend the ethos of the flagship PINC Experience through ongoing intimate gatherings. Hosted monthly at the Sarasota Art Museum, these events will highlight Sarasota's most distinguished thinkers and transformative ideas, ensuring that the dialogue continues throughout the year.
