Spotlight on Holliday Group: Building Sarasota’s Future with Legacy, Innovation, and Heart

For more than three decades, Holliday Group has been a cornerstone of Sarasota’s construction landscape—combining craftsmanship and modern innovation creating some of the region’s most distinctive homes and commercial spaces around.
A Legacy Rooted in Sarasota
Craig Holliday launched Holliday Group in 1994 after years of working alongside some of Sarasota’s most respected builders, including John Cannon and other leading contractors.
“After working for several prominent builders, I realized I could offer clients a more personal experience and a higher-quality product by starting my own company,” Craig recalls.
Construction has always been a family passion. Craig’s father was an architect with the famed Sarasota School of Architecture, known for designing several local landmarks, while his brother continues that tradition as an architect in Santa Barbara. “You could say construction runs in our blood,” Craig says with pride.
As the company grew, Craig recognized the need to evolve. In 2021, he brought on Keith Povich, a driven professional with deep expertise in technology and business operations. Keith quickly modernized internal systems, strengthened client communications, and introduced innovative tools to improve efficiency.
By 2025, Keith officially acquired Holliday Group, carrying forward Craig’s vision while bringing a fresh, forward-thinking approach. “Keith’s innovative mindset, particularly with streamlining processes, creating a positive culture, and digital integrations has accelerated our growth beyond expectations,” Craig says. “ Our team is amazing, I continue to oversee sales and development, Patrick Graham handles operations, and our combined team commitment to excellence remains stronger than ever.”
A Smarter, More Collaborative Approach
Holliday Group’s approach to construction is rooted in collaboration.
“From initial design to build out, we create a triangle of communication between the client, the architect, and our team,” Keith explains. “That ensures the designs align with expectations, budgets, and timelines from day one.”

This method prevents the disconnect that often occurs when homeowners work exclusively with architects, resulting in over-budget designs. “We protect our clients’ investments by keeping everyone aligned,” Keith says.
The company’s expertise spans custom homes, commercial projects, and restaurant builds like the new Tommy Bahamas’ restaurant and retail on St Armands Circle. Each type of project requires distinct skills but all are unified by the same dedication to detail and quality.
Excellence Through Craftsmanship
Every Holliday Group project is supported by a network of highly skilled tradespeople and trusted subcontractors—professionals who have been vetted over years of collaboration.
“We only work with craftsmen who share our high standards,” Craig emphasizes. “We don’t rely on transient labor. Every project deserves precision, pride, and integrity.”

To keep up with Sarasota County’s evolving regulations, the company employs a dedicated staff member who monitors the ever changing building codes to ensure compliance without delays or budget overruns.
Family, Faith, and Community
Beyond construction, Keith and his wife Falicia are pillars of the Sarasota community. Together, they raise four children—Ethan (16), Milan (15), Breezy (3), and their recently adopted five-year-old son, Poseidon—in a home built on faith, service, and love.
Ethan plays cornerback for Riverview High’s football team, while Milan is pursuing her passion for music and acting in the Booker High School VPA program. “She dreams of being on Broadway one day,” Keith shares. “Every year we take her to New York to catch a show and fuel her inspiration.”
Falicia and Keith now co-lead their family-run nonprofit, Empowering People Movement, which provides housing and support to those in need. They partner with several impactful local initiatives, including the Homeless Outreach Team (HOTS)—a division of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office—alongside Jewish Family and Children’s Services, SYC Cares, and Impact 100.
“We’ve been so blessed by this community,” Keith says. “It’s our responsibility and joy to give back—to the people who’ve helped us grow.”

The family are proud members of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and Sarasota Yacht Club, actively participating in local business and community events. On weekends, you’ll often find them on their boat, enjoying Sarasota’s stunning waterfront or working out at Siesta Key Beach.
Keith and Falicia also share a love of travel and exposing their children to the world. Last year, the family visited Dubai, France, Mexico, and Italy, embracing new cultures and experiences together.
Building a Better Sarasota
Holliday Group has played a vital role in shaping Sarasota’s skyline and neighborhoods for decades, from custom waterfront residences to local restaurants and townhomes.
“We’ve watched Sarasota evolve from the days when UTC was just a dirt road,” Craig reflects. “It’s incredible to see how far it’s come—and to know we’ve had a hand in that growth.”

The company’s philosophy is simple: honesty, transparency, and craftsmanship.
“There are plenty of contractors, but not all operate with integrity,” Keith says. “We’re proud that our name represents quality and trust. You’ll see our signs throughout Sarasota because so many of your neighbors and local businesses already rely on us.”

With services ranging from design and planning to full remodels, new builds, and commercial projects, Holliday Group continues to set the bar for excellence.
“We chose to partner with Stroll Magazine because its readers reflect the community we proudly serve,” Keith explains. “Located at Tamiami and Bahia Vista, we’re in the heart of Sarasota—and that’s exactly where we want to be.”

For Holliday Group, every project is more than construction—it’s a collaboration, a contribution, and a continuation of Sarasota’s story.
