In this February edition, dedicated to love in all its forms, we are delighted to introduce the Obregon family—a perfect blend of love, resilience, and ambition. Angelica and Kevin Obregon, along with their two young daughters, Sophia and Emily, have made a beautiful home in our community since August 2023, creating a nurturing environment filled with love and laughter.

The story of Angelica and Kevin's journey together is one of serendipity and commitment. They reconnected on Facebook in 2010 after attending the same high school but never really knowing each other. A mutual friend’s birthday party served as the spark that reignited their connection, and within three months, Angelica made a bold move to Atlanta, where Kevin was living at the time. Their shared values and dreams quickly laid a strong foundation for their future together.

Angelica, with her background in physical therapy and criminology from Florida Atlantic University and South University, respectively, transitioned to a career as a Mortgage Broker. Her drive to offer her daughters the best possible experiences led her to establish Key Mortgages, where she seamlessly manages her professional responsibilities from home. Her expertise in real estate, paired with Kevin’s insights into investments, has allowed them to build a substantial portfolio of properties across several states, including both single-family homes and multifamily properties.

Kevin’s journey has been equally inspiring. A Navy veteran who served in the Special Forces as a Boat Operator, Kevin’s dedication to service and discipline remained steadfast even after sustaining an injury that shifted his career path to air traffic control. Post-service, he pursued his passion for science, earning a Doctorate in Pharmacy and an MBA from South University. Today, he works as an Overnight Pharmacist at Memorial Health Care Hospital in Savannah, contributing to the well-being of the community while continuing to grow their real estate ventures through Oak Properties Group.

The Obregon's daughters, Sophia and Emily, are the heart of their home. Sophia, the eldest at three years old, is already showing signs of being a curious and eager learner, having started speaking at just seven months. She attends school part-time, where her thirst for knowledge is evident. Emily, at one and a half years old, mirrors her parents’ independent spirit, exploring and analyzing the world around her with a keen eye. Their home is a lively place of learning, laughter, and love, as the girls grow and discover the world together.

Lola, their small Maltese-Yorkie mix, adds another layer of joy to their household. Originally rescued by Angelica’s mother, Lola became a permanent member of the Obregon family after a pet-sitting stint turned into a forever home. She is a cherished companion who perfectly complements the family’s dynamic.

Family gatherings and celebrations hold a special place in the Obregons’ hearts. They often travel to West Palm Beach to spend holidays and birthdays with extended family, creating lasting memories filled with warmth and joy. Their trips have also taken them to Colombia and Costa Rica, further enriching their daughters’ lives with diverse cultural experiences.

In the neighborhood, the Obregons are active and engaged. Angelica’s involvement with the Women of Westbrook (WOW) and Kevin’s past participation in the Bros of Westbrook exemplify their commitment to fostering community spirit. They believe in the power of small acts of kindness and strive to build strong relationships with their neighbors, thereby contributing to the vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere that makes the community special.

Their favorite memory so far in the neighborhood is Easter 2024, when Sophia’s delight in egg hunting and meeting the Easter Bunny filled their hearts with joy. These moments, shared with friends and neighbors, reinforce their sense of belonging and highlight the importance of community connections.

For the Obregons, their neighborhood is more than just a place to live—it’s a haven where their love story continues to unfold, enriched by the bonds they build and the memories they create with those around them.
