Sean MacDonald has lived in the Dallas area his whole life. Growing up with three brothers and three sisters, his childhood was filled with outdoor adventures, go-karts, tree climbing, and a whole lot of noise—never a dull moment in the MacDonald house. Now a husband and dad of two, Sean says his wife and kids are the reason behind everything he does.

 

Sean’s path to becoming Founder and Owner of SKĀL Construction Group LLC started at a young age. Summers were spent painting apartments, mowing lawns, and fixing broken things at the family’s multi-family properties. After trying out different schools, earning a fire academy diploma, and getting licensed as an insurance adjuster, Sean realized his real passion was construction.

 

Sean previously worked for a construction company that was originally created in 2015 to handle projects for its parent company in the multi-family space. But Sean saw potential for more. After working his way up from maintenance tech to project manager and eventually COO/Part Owner, he set his sights on expansion. “I had bigger dreams to do more variety in the industry,” he says.

 

Under his leadership, the company began branching out into commercial and residential work and now boasts a portfolio that includes gyms, arcades, churches, schools, over 200,000 square feet of retail space, and thousands of multi-family units. Working with investors, franchises, business owners, and homeowners makes Sean's company truly a unique one.

 

In 2025, Sean was able to establish SKĀL Construction Group, absorbing what he had built with the other construction company and expanding.

Sean also shares a bit of wisdom for anyone planning a construction project: “Until you really trust your contractor—personally and professionally—get multiple bids. Don’t be afraid to compare.”

 

Outside of work, Sean is all about his family. He gives a heartfelt shoutout to his wife, who he actually went to high school with but didn’t meet until years later—thanks to a chance run-in at Home Depot while she was teaching his nephew. “She works so hard for our family,” he says. “Without her support, I wouldn’t be the man I am today.”
