A Festive Success: My Experience with the First PEF Holiday Home Tour
As a proud resident of Whitley Place, I was thrilled to open my home for the inaugural Prosper Education Foundation (PEF) Holiday Home Tour. The event showcased five beautifully decorated homes across Prosper, allowing guests to enjoy a flexible come-and-go tour from 12 to 5 p.m. Attendees also received special local discounts, with a delightful festive stop at Barbie's House- owned by fellow Whitley Place resident Jennifer Brown— for treats and shopping.
This first-year tour was a wonderful success, raising over $24,000 while bringing our community together in holiday spirit. For those unfamiliar, PEF supports Prosper ISD students and teachers through student scholarships, teacher grants for classroom innovation, appreciation initiatives, and leadership programs. As our district continues to grow rapidly, PEF bridges funding gaps beyond the regular school budget, enabling students to dream bigger and ensuring teachers feel valued and supported.
If you're inspired by this event, consider supporting PEF-every gift directly impacts our local students and teachers. Visit their website

Looking ahead, PEF hopes to grow this into a beloved annual Prosper tradition. If you or someone you know would love to feature your home in next year's tour, please reach out to Dr. Carrie Williamson at ed@prosperref.org. Let's continue spreading holiday cheer and supporting education in our community!
