A Beau-tiful Life
From Charlston to Wildhorse, this 12-year-old Maltipoo proves you’re never too old to act like a puppy.
Meet Beau, a 12-year-old Maltipoo that lives with the Powers Family. Virginia, Thomas, Avery (10), William (8), and Mary Hayes (4) have lived in Wildhorse for almost 4 years, and they have made so many wonderful memories.
Thomas and Virginia first bought Beau as a puppy when they were living in Charleston, South Carolina, so that he could be a companion to their other dog Izzie. They found Beau through friends that had bought Beau’s brother. Over the years, Beau has learned so many great things from living with the Powers family.
Although Beau generally has a very calm demeanor, he can act like a puppy when excited. In addition to his great personality, Beau also is able to listen to basic commands like “Sit” and “Stay,” and finds great joy in following Thomas and Virginia around the house. At night, one can find Beau lying at the foot of Avery’s bed.
One of the most memorable moments the Powers family has experienced with Beau, was when he pawed at their other dog Izzie, and cowered while waiting to play. This memorable experience was brought on by the fact that Beau was submissive to Izzie, and not the alpha dog in their household. He is a family dog through and through and is sweet with the children, teaching them responsibility and play. However, Beau is also incredibly spoiled, he never says no to a treat, and always has time to run around.
In summary, Beau is an incredible dog that has had a lasting impact on the entirety of the Powers Family. If you ever see Beau in the neighborhood, make sure to say “Hi!”
