At Home in Wilderness with Annette & Olivia

Whether they’re swimming, hiking, or enjoying Sunday breakfasts, this close-knit duo is embracing all that neighborhood life has to offer.

Annette Farrar and her daughter, Olivia Tindall (5), moved to the Wilderness neighborhood in December of 2021 and have loved calling it home ever since. Joining them are their three kittens: Mara, Princess Leia, and Baby Girl. Sisters Mara and Princess Leia are black-and-white cats, while Baby Girl is the youngest of the trio.

Annette was born in Missouri but spent 14 years living in Texas, where Olivia was born. When Annette decided to move back to Missouri, she went house hunting and quickly found the home she had envisioned and jumped at the chance to make it theirs.

Olivia is an energetic, outdoors-loving kid who enjoys playing soccer, basketball, and dance. Riding her scooter and spending time outside are among her favorite activities. Annette enjoys working out and practicing yoga, while Olivia loves reading and playing with her cats. Together, the two enjoy hiking, neighborhood walks, traveling, and swimming, especially swimming. This past summer, they spent nearly every single day at the pool.

Olivia is known for being talkative and funny, with stories flowing from morning until bedtime. The pair also enjoy relaxing together by watching their favorite TV shows, sitting outside in the sunshine, and taking evening walks around the neighborhood.

One tradition Annette and Olivia especially look forward to is movie night complete with their signature “movie salad.” They pop a big bowl of popcorn and mix in favorite candies like Nestlé Buncha Crunch, Whoppers, M&M’s, Nerds Gummy Clusters, and gummy bears, all topped off with extra butter. It’s a sweet (and salty!) tradition they love sharing.

Halloween is their favorite holiday to celebrate, but everyday traditions matter just as much. Annette and Olivia work on one “big word” together each day, both on school days and weekends. Sundays are especially fun, with Olivia looking forward to big homemade breakfasts prepared by Annette.

They also share many favorites. Southern California and the beach top their travel list. Olivia loves her mom’s cooking and prefers eating at home, with favorites including meatloaf, green beans, lasagna, pasta, and grilled cheese. The two enjoy both scary movies and Disney films, a wide range of music from Bob Marley to Taylor Swift, and cheering on the Los Angeles Rams, St. Louis Cardinals, and Blues. Annette’s Rams loyalty runs deep as she was a St. Louis Rams cheerleader in the mid-2000s.

Be sure to say hello if you see Annette and Olivia out on a walk around the neighborhood!
