Caty Koch, an ambitious 11-year-old, has set her sights on the national stage. She is currently a Level 4 competitive gymnast who strives to become better than the best. She resides in Wilderness at Wildhorse with her dad, Felipe, her mom, Carol, and her younger brother, Lucas.
Caty has been competing in gymnastics for 7 years, and this year will be the first in which she travels around the state. Ever since her mom took her to a gymnastics class at the age of 4, she’s been honing her skills to perfection. Being able to learn new skills and hang out with her friends is one of Caty’s favorite parts of gymnastics. She started gymnastics in Indiana, and a year and a half ago, she moved to St. Louis and continues her journey at Olympia Chesterfield.
Caty vividly remembers the first day on the team, and she recalls being extremely excited to finally begin her training. For Caty, learning new skills is the hardest part of gymnastics, and her advice for learning new skills is to always try your hardest and stay positive.
Even at a young age, Caty already has plans for the future. She wants to graduate from college and continue to compete in gymnastics.
Outside of school and gymnastics, Caty also enjoys running, pickleball, and volleyball. Being only a sixth grader, Caty is already ahead of the game, keeping up with school while still finding time to go to practices and competitions. Caty has a long way ahead, and we already see her bright future. Keep it up, Caty!
