Meet the Edenfields: A New Highlands Family
From Atlanta to St. Louis: A Family’s Journey Home

The Edenfields
The Edenfield family moved to the Highlands in December 2024. Gen and Scott Edenfield, along with their three sons—Grant (7), Luke (5), and Caleb (11 months)—are settling into their new community here in Chesterfield.
Originally from St. Louis, Gen attended Nerinx Hall High School before heading to Mizzou. She met Scott, a Charleston, SC native, while working at AT&T in Atlanta. The couple spent 15 years in Atlanta before making the move back to St. Louis to be closer to family. The Highlands felt like the perfect fit, with its excellent school district and family-friendly atmosphere.
Scott works as a bank management consultant, while Gen is in healthcare IT staffing. Their busy household includes Chip, their 9.5-year-old Shih Tzu, who has been part of their journey for nearly a decade.
Each family member has their own favorite activities. Gen loves getting outside for a walk with a great podcast and is passionate about cooking. Scott enjoys grilling and cheering on Clemson football, embracing all things orange. Grant is an avid reader and is currently reading Harry Potter; he also looks forward to attending Lego camp this Spring. Luke enjoys riding his scooter, building forts, and organizing items around the house. Caleb observes and imitates his brothers while soaking up plenty of snuggles from Mom.
Weekends are often spent exploring St. Louis' top attractions, from the Zoo and Science Center to the Magic House and Six Flags. Family traditions include nightly dinners, Friday movie nights, and summer trips to Charleston’s Folly Beach with extended family. They are planning a trip to Rosemary Beach on 30A in May.
The Edenfields enjoy dining out at Dewey’s Pizza and having spaghetti or taco nights at home. Clemson football is a family passion, and while TV time is rare, country music fills their home—especially Eric Church, whom Gen and Scott recently saw in concert.
A fun fact? Gen met Scott on her very first day at work in Atlanta! Now, after 15 years in Georgia, their St. Louis chapter is just beginning.
