The Kitchen Makeover Worth the Wait

After seven years in Wildhorse, the Watts finally took the leap and love their brand-new space.

The perfect gathering place

After living in their Wildhorse home for seven years, the Watt family finally decided it was time to take on a long-discussed dream: a full kitchen remodel. “We’ve talked about renovating since we moved in back in 2018,” they shared. The push to move forward came after their neighbors, the Maullers, remodeled their own kitchen with Meyer Contracting (featured in our April 2025 issue). Inspired by the results, the Watts reached out for a quote and the rest is history.

The remodel was no small update. The family decided to knock down the wall that once separated the kitchen from the family room, creating a bright, open-concept layout perfect for both everyday living and entertaining. They also used to have a little desk area that was never used so they took that out and turned it into storage. That area now has pull out shelves for all their appliances which has been great use of space. From the flow of the space to the updated finishes, the transformation exceeded their expectations.

Choosing Meyer Contracting proved to be the right decision. The project took about 10 weeks total with no major issues and “We couldn’t be happier,” the Watts said. The team made the process seamless, and the finished product reflects the family’s vision of a modern, welcoming kitchen.

When asked if there’s anything they would change if they could do it all again, their answer was simple: “Not a single thing!” That kind of satisfaction speaks volumes about both the design and the craftsmanship that went into the project.

For others thinking about making updates to their homes, the Watts offer a bit of encouragement: “Don’t be nervous, just go for it and enjoy it!” Their story is a reminder that sometimes the best improvements to your home start with a little inspiration from those around you, and the right team to bring your vision to life.
