Meet the Calhoun Family

A Legal Power Couple Rooted in Willow Bend

In the heart of Willow Bend, where community, connection, and ambition intersect, Luke Calhoun and Spenser Housewright Calhoun are building not only thriving law practices—but a life centered around family, excellence, and intention.

Both accomplished attorneys and business owners, Spenser and Luke represent a new generation of professionals redefining what it means to balance high-level careers with meaningful family life.

Spenser is the founder and owner of Housewright Law Group PLLC, a boutique family law firm based in Collin County and serving clients across North Texas. With a practice focused on divorce, custody, and complex family matters, she is known for her strategic advocacy, strong courtroom presence, and deep commitment to helping clients navigate some of life’s most challenging transitions.

Luke is a founding partner at Dotzel Calhoun LP, a respected criminal defense firm in Collin County and serving clients in the DFW Metroplex. A former chief felony prosecutor in Collin County, Luke brings a unique perspective to his practice—having handled cases from both sides of the courtroom. Today, as a criminal defense attorney, Calhoun uses that experience to fight for his clients on a daily basis.

Both Spenser and Luke have been recognized among D Magazine’s Best Lawyers Under 40, a testament to their professional excellence and impact within the Dallas legal community.

While their careers are impressive, their greatest pride is their family. The Calhouns are raising Jackson and Luke in Willow Bend, where they enjoy being part of a close-knit, family-oriented neighborhood. They attend Prestonwood Christian Academy, and much of their time outside the office is spent at weekend sporting events for the boys!

Their story is also one rooted in Texas. Luke grew up in East Texas, bringing with him a grounded, personable approach that resonates both in his work and in his relationships. Spenser is a Plano native and graduate of Plano West, making Willow Bend a true “homegrown” return to her roots.

In March 2026, the couple celebrated their marriage in the breathtaking mountain town of Telluride, Colorado—a destination that reflects their shared love of travel, adventure, and creating meaningful experiences together.

Despite running two busy law firms, Spenser and Luke are intentional about carving out time for family, whether it’s a casual dinner at home, a weekend getaway, or cheering on Jackson and Luke from the sidelines. They believe that success isn’t just measured in professional milestones, but in the life you build outside of work.

As Willow Bend continues to grow with dynamic families and entrepreneurs, the Calhouns embody the spirit of the community: driven, connected, and deeply invested in both their work and the people around them. Giving back to the community is something they hold dear.
