Romeo Rajic Rowe:

The Little Man with a Big Heart

When the Rajic Rowe family moved into Wolf Ranch, they quickly embraced the things that make this neighborhood so special — the welcoming neighbors, the amenities, and the lively calendar of events. But for Tatjana Rajic Rowe, one of the greatest joys of Wolf Ranch life has been sharing it all with her beloved Pomeranian, Romeo. At eight years old, this little man has become as much a part of the family as any human, his charm and sweet spirit leaving paw prints on everyone who meets him.

Romeo’s story began in Wisconsin, where Tatjana’s godmother lived next door to a breeder. Tatjana had always dreamed of having a dog, and when she heard that a new litter of Pomeranian puppies was on the way, she jumped at the chance. She never even met the puppies in person — she asked her godmother to choose one for her, trusting her judgment. That faith was rewarded with the gift of a tiny ball of fluff who would become her constant companion, her source of joy, and, as she often says, the best puppy she could have hoped for.

At first, Tatjana thought she would call him Teddy because of his resemblance to a little bear. But fate intervened on a trip to a winery, where the puppy revealed his true nature. Romeo greeted everyone he met with kisses, spreading affection and delight without hesitation. Watching his natural ability to charm strangers, Tatjana realized his name had already chosen itself. Teddy was set aside in favor of Romeo, a name that captured both his personality and his habit of showering the world with love. Today, his full name is Romeo Theodore Rajic Rowe, a title worthy of such a distinguished little gentleman.

Despite his size, Romeo has a personality that fills every room. Sweet and affectionate most of the time, he is also fiercely independent. If he doesn’t want to do something, he simply won’t — and no amount of persuasion will change his mind. He is equally discerning when it comes to his favorite things. Romeo has a famously picky palate, turning up his nose at many treats, but he adores beef mini soup bones. As for toys, nothing compares to his beloved “Starbarks Coffee” plush, which has become a signature accessory for the stylish pup.

One of Tatjana’s most cherished memories with Romeo came during the pandemic. Cooped up for days inside the house, she decided on a whim to take him for a joyride in her convertible. With the top down, music playing, and the roads unusually empty, she and Romeo cruised through town, wind in their hair and fur. The moment was simple yet unforgettable, a shared slice of peace and freedom in a difficult time. That day captured the essence of their bond — companionship in life’s quiet joys.

Romeo’s sense of adventure extends well beyond neighborhood walks. He loves riding in cars and has an amusing habit of sitting proudly at the wheel, as if he’s ready to take over driving duties himself. He is also a seasoned traveler, having flown frequently with Tatjana. His calm, polite behavior in airports and on planes is a source of pride for his family. Unlike many pets, Romeo takes the hustle and bustle of travel in stride, winning hearts wherever he goes.

Since arriving at Wolf Ranch, Romeo has already left his mark on the community. Known for his affectionate kisses, he’s even extended his love to a few lucky canine friends in the neighborhood. For Tatjana, it’s another reason to feel grateful for the life they’ve found here. Surrounded by great neighbors, fun activities, and a sense of connection, Wolf Ranch has become the perfect place for her and her little man.

At the heart of it all, Romeo remains what he has always been — a blessing chosen from a handful of puppies years ago, who grew into the sweetest companion and an irreplaceable member of the family. Whether he’s perched behind the wheel, tucked into an airplane seat, or trotting down the sidewalks of Wolf Ranch with his toy in tow, Romeo Rajic Rowe continues to live up to his name, charming everyone he meets. For those lucky enough to encounter him, it’s easy to see why this eight-year-old Pomeranian has earned his reputation as Wolf Ranch’s little man with a very big heart.
