From Beats to Beauty:

Meet the Grosso Family

When Scott and Lydia Grosso decided to leave behind their longtime home in California, they knew it would be a leap of faith. After 22 years in the Golden State, they packed up their lives, their two bulldogs, and a lifetime of memories to begin fresh here in Wolf Ranch. For them, this move was about more than a change of scenery — it was about creating a new chapter, new friendships, and new opportunities to grow.

Scott’s story begins in Connecticut, where he grew up before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps at just 18 years old. After eight years of service, he separated from the military in 1999 and made California home. That decision led him to an impressive career in law enforcement spanning over two decades. Scott started with the California Highway Patrol in 2001 before transitioning to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, where he served in roles ranging from Patrol Deputy to Gang Detective to Sergeant. He ultimately retired as a Detective Sergeant, overseeing county security and specializing in behavioral threat assessments — a job that required sharp instincts, leadership, and an unwavering dedication to protecting others.

Lydia’s journey began thousands of miles away in Vietnam. In 1999, she immigrated to the United States with her family and soon joined her sisters in opening a salon in Milpitas, California. Their salon, Salon De Paris, carried forward a family legacy that began with Lydia’s father, who opened the first Salon De Paris in Vietnam back in 1962. Lydia herself had been entrepreneurial from a young age, opening her first salon at only 18 years old. With her incredible skill and passion as a Master Hair and Color Stylist, Salon De Paris quickly became a trusted and well-loved name in the Bay Area.

Scott and Lydia’s love story is a modern one. The two met in 2007 on Match.com. Scott jokes that online dating back then felt like a second job, each encounter like a job interview — until Lydia came along. She was, in his words, “completely out of my league.” To his delight, she agreed to a second date, and, as Scott says, “the rest is history.”

When Scott retired in 2023, he was ready for a new adventure. Lydia was hesitant at first, as leaving behind her business and circle of friends wasn’t easy. But with the move came the chance to bring Salon De Paris to Austin, where Lydia recently opened Salon De Paris ATX, proudly continuing her family’s tradition of excellence in hair styling. To celebrate their new chapter, Wolf Ranch residents receive a 10% discount for the next six months by booking online with the code Wolf10.

Their family also includes two beloved bulldogs, Bella (an English Bulldog, age 5) and Barkley (a French Bulldog, age 1). Scott also has a 22-year-old son from a previous marriage, who is currently serving in the U.S. Navy as a Construction Electrician with the Seabees — a point of great pride for both Scott and Lydia.

Life in Wolf Ranch has been filled with new connections. When the Grossos first moved in December 2023, they wasted no time in bringing neighbors together. Their Memorial Day pool party was open to the entire community and drew 30–40 people, many of whom have since become close friends. More recently, Scott combined his passion for music with his love of bringing people together by hosting the very first “Drinks on the Driveway” EDM rave, where he DJ’d live. He’s now working with the HOA to explore the possibility of putting on a larger show at River Camp.

Scott’s love of music runs deep. Growing up in the late ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, he was influenced by everything from Elvis and Sinatra to Bruce Springsteen, Journey, and Dave Matthews. In the early 2000s, he discovered Electronic Dance Music and even now shares his DJ sets on YouTube, though he admits he prefers the energy of a live audience. Lydia and Scott also share a love of travel — especially to Italy and Mexico — and even bought and sold a property in Southern Italy.

When asked what they love most about Wolf Ranch, Scott’s answer is simple: the people. For the Grossos, neighbors aren’t just people who live next door — they’re friends who have already made this new chapter feel like home.

As Lydia continues to grow Salon De Paris ATX and Scott keeps the music alive through his DJing, one thing is clear: the Grossos are here not just to live in Wolf Ranch, but to add to the vibrant, connected spirit that makes this community special.
