The First Annual King and Bear House Dog Show

The First Annual King and Bear House Dog Show was held on October 12, 2024. The initial date was postponed due to Hurricane Helene. The event was rescheduled to October 12, and Hurricane Milton almost caused cancellation again.

Despite the delay, the show went on, and K&B’s finest house dogs had a chance to strut their stuff for the judges. This year’s judges were Russ Neville, John Lang, and Julie Nelligan. Dogs were registered and given a special cookie treat upon entry.

Ribbons were awarded for first, second, and third place in categories such as brown dogs, white dogs, and smartest dogs. A total of nine classes were available for competition with all the first place winners in the first nine classes competing for Best Of Show.

Piper, shown by Sue Holmes, scored the coveted Best of Show trophy.

The day concluded with drawings for door prizes donated by Wendy Reifel (hands-free poop bags) and a gift bag donated by Pet Supplies on County Road 210. Owners and house dogs all had a great time “putting on the dog” and sharing quality time together.
