The Voithofers Bring Adventure, Family, and Heart to Wyndham Hills
When Brice and Sherry Voithofer moved to Wyndham Hills in October 2022, they were not just looking for a house. They were looking for the right backdrop for the next chapter of their lives. They found it in a 100-year-old home with a back porch so beautiful that they immediately knew it was where they wanted to say their vows. The couple married there in August 2023, and the neighborhood has felt like home ever since.
Their story together is one worth telling. Brice and Sherry technically crossed paths years before they ever met. Both attended Penn State University, and Sherry had actually spent time in Brice’s fraternity room through a mutual friend, yet the two never met face-to-face. It was not until 2020, during the height of COVID, that they connected online, gradually discovered their shared Penn State history, and eventually met in person. As Brice describes it, it was love at first sight, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Together, Brice and Sherry lead a full and lively life. They are a blended family with six young adult children: Jordan, 24; Kayla, 24; Molly, 21; Walker, 19; Anna, 18; and Eleanor, 17. The couple is currently enjoying life as empty nesters, happily cheering their kids on from afar as each one finds their footing in adulthood. The family dog, a labradoodle named Nora Bean, keeps their daughter, Molly, company at Bloomsburg University, where Molly is studying to become a child psychologist.
Both Brice and Sherry come from backgrounds as well-traveled as they are accomplished. Brice was born at Penn State while his father coached basketball there, grew up in Middletown, Pennsylvania, and later lived in San German, Puerto Rico; Ribeirão Preto, Brazil; and Armidale, Australia, before settling in San Diego after college. Sherry was raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, spent years in Columbus, Ohio, and eventually returned to Central Pennsylvania in 2017.
Closer to home, the couple keeps a full social calendar filled with outdoor activities and passions. They play in a Friday night couples golf league at Briarwood Golf Course and are passionate Penn State football and Pittsburgh Steelers fans, with a particular enthusiasm for cheering against Ohio State. They also love supporting the York Revolution. Sherry is an avid concert-goer who leans toward hard rock but will gladly attend nearly any live performance.
Over the past couple of years, the Voithofers have truly become part of the community, getting involved whenever they can. Sherry serves as Speaker Coordinator for the York Chapter of Polkadot Powerhouse, and together, the couple volunteers with the York Community Food Bank. When the two wind down at home, you will likely find them playing Rummikub or Scrabble, soaking in the hot tub, or gathered around a firepit.
Their academic and professional paths are another standout part of this household, still bringing new adventures and plans. Brice recently stepped away from 30 years in anesthesia practice management to launch Smoked and Soaked, a lifestyle and media brand celebrating barbecue culture and craft beverages. He brings that same spirit of exploration to the kitchen. He rarely uses recipes, drawing inspiration from years of watching Julia Child, Anthony Bourdain, and the original Japanese Iron Chef. Sherry, meanwhile, is a CPA with an impressive portfolio of credentials and runs Jordan Financial Consulting and Coaching, specializing in financial neutral and divorce mediation services.
The Voithofers have found the perfect place to watch their renovated dreams, and projects come to life. What draws them most to Wyndham Hills is something many neighbors will recognize: “The neighborhood, for the most part, is very quiet, very nice neighbors (Debbie our next door neighbor is the Best Neighbor in the World) and we enjoy taking walks looking at all the beautiful houses and getting ideas for plants, etc. from what looks so nice with our neighbors landscape,” Brice shared.
It is the kind of observation that says everything about who they are: curious, appreciative, and genuinely glad to be part of a community. Wyndham Hills is lucky to have them, with their adventurous spirit, strong family bond, and love for the wider world. We are fans of the Voithofers.
