Dr. Heidi Sprowls: Compassionate Care in Dentistry

For Dr. Heidi Sprowls, dentistry isn’t just about fixing teeth—it’s about building relationships, restoring confidence, and providing compassionate care. As the owner of Heidi Sprowls DDS, a general dentistry practice in Centerville, she has spent more than two decades ensuring that patients of all ages receive high-quality dental and cosmetic care with respect and compassion.

From Passion to Practice
Dr. Sprowls’ path to dentistry began with an academic foundation in psychology at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in 1997. She then pursued dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry, completing her degree and then doing her residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. In 2002, she moved to the area and established her practice, where she has been providing expert care ever since.

Where Patients Feel at Home
Going to the dentist can be stressful, but Dr. Sprowls and her team work hard to change that perception. “At my office, we treat you with respect and compassion,” she shares. “We know most people don’t enjoy going to the dentist, but interacting with familiar faces each time makes the experience feel more like you’re seeing family and friends. We build connections with you as humans. You’re not just a number or a tooth in a factory or clinic.”

In addition to offering routine and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Sprowls ensures patients receive timely attention, especially in emergencies. She explains, “We will address your needs in a timely manner and see you quickly for emergencies. We will also help you understand your benefits and any billing issues.”

Smile-Worthy Deals for New Patients
Dr. Sprowls is currently welcoming new patients with special promotions:
  • $75 new patient exam and x-rays
  • $500 off full Invisalign treatment for new patients, including one set of retainers
Transforming Smiles and Changing Lives
Dr. Sprowls finds her work extremely rewarding. “Changing someone’s level of confidence by changing their smile and seeing people stop feeling shame about their teeth and smile is the most rewarding part of what I do,” she exclaims. “Patients with confident, healthy, and beautiful smiles will see positive effects in all aspects of their lives.”

She also encourages patients to prioritize preventative care. “Come see us regularly to prevent problems from becoming bigger issues,” she advises. “Don’t wait for pain because the absence of pain doesn’t mean the absence of serious problems. Also, don’t be afraid of having the recommended x-rays—they help me find decay and infection before it can affect your comfort and overall health. The x-rays are safer than infection and inflammation living in your body. Let us help you determine what is causing your problems so we can prevent them from happening in the future.”

Dr. Sprowls reassures patients that genetics don’t have to dictate their oral health. Just because your parents had troublesome teeth does not dictate your dental health. We can help you fight to keep your teeth for your whole life.”

Family, Adventures, and Finding Joy
Outside of work, Dr. Sprowls cherishes time with her family. Her 20-year-old daughter, Chloe, attends Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia, and her mother, a retired nurse, lives in Springboro. “She played such a huge role in helping me raise Chloe,” Dr. Sprowls remarks. “I couldn’t have built my career without her.”

Dr. Sprowls also enjoys simple pleasures—taking long walks with her beloved dogs, traveling with Chloe, and exploring New York City together. “We love Broadway shows and soaking in the city with no agenda, seeing where the day will take us,” she notes. She also enjoys skiing, swimming, beach walks, flea markets, and vintage fashion.

For Dr. Sprowls, success is about human connection. “Helping and healing someone every day (dental or otherwise) and having the ability to connect with all people—that’s success,” she declares. “I love connecting with every person and proving that we can build a relationship even if we are different. I love the human connection and believe it is the most important part of life. It indirectly helps our health and peace of mind.”

Leaving a Legacy of Strength and Smiles
When asked what she hopes to be remembered for, her answer is clear: “Being an excellent mom,” she reveals. “It is the most important job I have. I want to guide Chloe toward a life of strength and compassion with a strong work ethic. I also hope people will remember me for approaching everything I do with love.”

Dr. Heidi Sprowls’ dedication to compassionate, high-quality dental care and meaningful connections makes her practice a vital part of the Centerville community. If you’re looking for a dentist who treats you like family, Dr. Sprowls is ready to welcome you with open arms.
