Aloha, Graduate!
A graduation trip to Hawaii became the perfect mix of adventure, family memories, and celebration.
For the Malmin family, Hawaii was the perfect mix of celebration, adventure, and meaningful family memories. Their recent trip to Honolulu was especially memorable as they traveled to celebrate their daughter Natalie graduating from the University of Hawaii. What a beautiful place to spend her college years.
The week included a little bit of everything, from sky diving and ATV adventures to long beach days and sunset cruises with fellow Agritopia families and local Hawaii friends.
“Sky diving was a must do,” the family shared. “We also did an ATV adventure that was super fun.”
While there are plenty of exciting excursions to choose from, some of their favorite moments were the slower ones spent soaking in the beauty of the island. Waimanalo Beach and several spots along the North Shore quickly became favorites for both kids and adults.
The family stayed at the Waikiki Marina Resort at the Ilikai, which they highly recommend for families thanks to the small kitchens, full size refrigerators, and laid back atmosphere. Having a comfortable place where everyone could casually gather throughout the day for coffee, breakfast, snacks, or lunch made the trip feel relaxed and easy, especially with a larger group. An added bonus? Their favorite coffee shop was conveniently located downstairs with incredible ocean views.
The Malmins also recommend using Turo instead of a traditional rental car service to find a fun vehicle at a better price.
Their biggest packing tip?
“Pack lots of swimsuits.”
After spending a week in paradise celebrating such a special milestone, the family admits they easily could have stayed longer.
