A Place for Everyone at Pea Ridge United Methodist Church

Pea Ridge United Methodist Church (PRUMC) is a welcoming church community dedicated to creating a space where everyone feels valued, accepted, and loved. In 2019, PRUMC took a meaningful step forward by joining the “Open to All” campaign, affirming that people of all backgrounds, beliefs, abilities, and identities truly belong. What began as a single initiative has grown into a thriving Inclusion Ministry, reflecting the church’s continued commitment to meeting people where they are.

This spirit of inclusion is guided by the leadership of Rev. Benjamin Wells, Meredith Mears, Natalie Hashem, and several other dedicated leaders. Together, they have shaped ministries that ensure everyone not only feels welcome but has the opportunity to fully participate in the life of the church.

Rev. Benjamin Wells, who began serving as pastor in 2024, brings a deep passion for welcoming others. His experience in campus ministry included working closely with students with disabilities and neurodiverse learners, helping to create environments where all individuals could grow in both faith and community. He continues to serve others through involvement in local disaster relief efforts, supporting individuals and families during difficult times. Rev. Wells is known for his kindness and his ability to make each person feel seen and cared for.

The children’s ministry at PRUMC reflects this same commitment to inclusion in thoughtful and meaningful ways. The space is designed to support a variety of needs, offering sensory fidget boxes in the sanctuary and classrooms equipped with sensory tents, picture schedules, and sensory paths. Lessons incorporate movement and interactive elements, allowing children to engage in ways that best suit how they learn.

Children are also encouraged to serve others. Recently, they collected nonperishable food items for two local schools to support students who may need extra food during school breaks. Looking ahead, the ministry is working toward creating a more inclusive playground for both the church and the surrounding community.

At PRUMC, inclusion is not simply a program; it is part of everyday life. It is reflected in warm greetings, thoughtful accommodations, and the genuine care shared among members of the congregation.

Pea Ridge United Methodist Church is located at 112 East Pea Ridge Road. Worship begins each Sunday at 10:45 a.m., followed by a dessert fellowship in the parlor.
